Some nice competitive races at Haydock so will wait to see who puts up what before sponging them, but a couple I like at Kempton are:

    3.25 SPRING LOADED
    4.00 HERMITAGE BAY
    4.35 DUCHESS OF MARMITE

So CALIFORNIA CHROME a good thing tomorrow? Personally I think so at 15/8 is a cracking price is easily the classiest horse in the field - frosted not quick enough and nothing really has his class! So with my winnings of GRENDISAR today am on good luck all <ok>

A couple of the challenger finals tomorrow at Haydock the stayers hurdle is wide open - my boy Bangkok Pete who won at Ascot not running due to the ground being too quick for him shame coz he is in great shape! BILLY DUTTON does pick my fancy as he ran well behind has ran very consistently this season (put a line through his last run at Cheltenham - ground was completely against him) he also ran a blinder behind Pete last time wasn't getting any closer to Him but ran well went off favourite that day and has a couple of the field above him in price! Will improve for that run and will love the faster ground and at 12/1 is a great each way price!!

    Norfolk Sound 20/1 e/w 255 Carlisle
Bodega 14/1 e/w 3 10 Haydock two singles and an e/w double--both have realistic chances but are from yards in cracking form so hopeful of a profit...

Think california chrome is well worth taking on in the big race for two main reasons.....

    1) in recent years every time hes been in one of these big types of races, hes not got the job done. Lost the belmont when going for the triple crown, breeders cup classic, and was well fancied for this same race last year but again got beat. Cant doubt that hes a class horse and maybe he will come and blow this field apart but I'm happy to take him on with that record.

    2) favs dont have a good record in this race, seems to be a race that more often than not throws up a surprise result. Wouldn't be in a hurry to back California chrome at the current price. Would rather take a chance on one with a bit more value and I've landed on Mshawish(12/1), hoping Frankie can bag another big race.

    2.25 Cork

    Creggs Pipes 16/1

I genuinely can't get over how Andrew Slattery's 4 year old Creggs Pipes is the price she is and I think if she's fully wound up on her seasonal debut then she has an outstanding chance of landing this winnable contest. Having appeared twice late as a 2 year old, Creggs Pipe had a progressive looking profile last year as a 3 year old which saw her pick up 2 quick ground wins at Leopardstown in small fields - the latest of which coming off this mark of 77 just two starts ago. Her trainer said that she prefers soft ground so she should handle today's prevailing conditions just fine. Her last start came back in September in a valuable 6f handicap at the Curragh when she was a huge eye catcher and the handicapper has crazily dropper her 5lb for that run. In a much tougher contest where she was bottom weight rated 82 (top weight 102), Creggs Pipes was prominent on the near side rail throughout and, having still looked full of running with about 1f to go, she was badly hampered by her stable mate and was subsequently eased when all her chance was gone. She looked absolutely full of running and in a much, much easier race and off a 5lb lower mark she's going to find this contest considerably easier. With a great draw in stall 2, I'm expecting Declan McDonogh to either try and make all or have her in the first 4 throughout. Although there's a chance she could need the run, she's run well fresh in the past and I think the fact that she is entered in a Listed contest rated just 77 says an awful lot of what connections think about both her ability and her race readiness. With ground expected to suit, dropping significantly in grade, back down to her last winning mark and well drawn in stall 2, I think the current price available is absolutely crazy and I'm seriously confident that she can land this prize.

Sh*te racing at home today. So I'm looking at cork. Met some Irish fella yesterday and he reckons Smullen will have a couple of winners. Eagle valley for me and I see fallons got a ride on quick jack. In Dubai highland reel in the classic.
    Cheers.

Very keen on Bodega's chances today in Haydock's 3.10

Going well when brought down a week ago, I think the quick return indicates that connections are keen to get a win while he is in good form. 11 or 12-1 available.

    1.25 Haydock- WOODLAND WALK 16/1

This horse has the talent to win a handicap like this but is a little quirky. Today there are two things that could help- better ground, and a flatter track. That should enable a better finishing effort and should settle off a decent pace.

The intermediate trip of 2m 2f should suit too (beat Racing Post ratings have come over similar trips)

I think Beau Phil will be tough to beat in 2.40 at Newton Abbot 9/2
Don't normally like opposing Roto but I'll be siding with Eagle Valley in 2.25 at Cork 11/2.Tracie Collins/Pat Smullen landed a nice winner yday at Lingers and can go close again with this lad
