I have also had season pass since gods know when but this could end. I buy my pass, a senior,my sons an adult and my grandsons, under five. This scheme will make my outlay significantly increase and the football I am given is going down in quality. Think this might be the end.
I don't have a pass this year, for reasons you can guess if I buy one next season I will be just buying my own, so probably won't be too far out of pocket, or maybe even better off However I still think the removal of concessions is disgraceful, even if in some weird way it financially benefits me by my price not subsidising others. Subsidising others is part of being in a civilised society, and I'm comfortable with it The other reason I'm comfortable with it is that I hope I eventually have to benefit from one myself. I'd like to think I will survive long enough to need a cheaper ticket due to my age and similarly I'd like to think at some point in the future I might have grandkids that would want a ticket...you know, to get them going young to make the support sustainable in the long run! Why the **** we're having to discuss this at such a vital stage of the season though is beyond me.?!
Those of us that didn't renew for being evicted after many years, will suffer a £50 penalty if we want to 'earn our stripes'. How the **** anyone can see it as a good idea is lost on me.
I mailed the club to ask how much extra it will cost me next season. In the past for many years I have bought my pass,my sons and grandsons. So far no answer. Great customer relations.
I didn't say that there was. Will there be a joining fee? A The club says a £50 membership fee will be in place if City are promoted but members joining early will not have to pay. Presumably (although it's implied rather than explicit) current non-passholders will get free 'membership' to the club they've been a member of and "earning our stripes" for decades, provided they take the queens shilling now. Which ignores many of the reasons that many long term fans have ended up as non-passholders. I think a fair few are thinking "**** it, do it your way and we'll see if we're still interested in coming back in picking up the pieces...again".
REhab's focus seems entirely on saving admin and HR costs associated with turnstiles, issuing tickets and renewing passes. He seems oblivious to the falling gates in a season when we have reached the last 8 in the League Cup, the last 16 in the FA cup (only being eliminated in both by CL teams) and are in the frame for automatic promotion, having lost only once (best home record in the division?) How come he doesn't focus his attention on enticing back the missing thousands instead of press-ganging ball boys into waving big flags, epilepsy-inducing lightshows and ramping up the scoreboard displays? Next initiative: turning up Steve Jordan's mic even more and amping his bluster via Dolby Sensurround? It's the missing thousands, stupid!
