The visiting Airlie Birds picked up the ball, dropped in a tackle by the Rovers player and scored a try. The referee went to the video replay official but his on-field decision was a try. Stevie Wonder in the replay booth then decided that it was not a try but a steal. This the latest in a long catalogue of wrong calls by officials who get to see the action from ten angles in slow motion and do not know what they see in front of them.

When you are watching the Super League highlights for the Video Ref howler (by referee James Childs) in the Hull derby (the west of Hull eventually won 22-20), have a look at the St Helens v Wigan game. Second half, about five minutes in, St Helens’ man drops the ball in a tackle and Wigan pick the ball up and run it in for a try. The on-field decision is try but the Video Ref says no try. Groundhog Day but only if a Day is defined as three hours! I had two-thirds of a bottle of red wine at a Chinese restaurant last night and a couple of pints of beer (and counting) today and I can see better than these idiots.
