... just in case you haven't seen this ... I suspect no penalty was awaded because the ref didn't think there was enough intent
.... hmm usually there is something being celebrated in those instances .... God only knows what the lino and ref were looking at to completely miss this one ...
You won a corner. What more do you want? They actually pull each other's shirts, which is bloody typical at the moment, unfortunately. Dann gets a bit carried away, though! Lucky to avoid a penalty. Thought the officials were **** and inconsistent all game, to be honest. Missed lots and were completely erratic about cards.
I reckon Huth purposefully lubed his shirt up beforehand so that it would come off at the slightest touch. Shocking, should carry a 5 match ban ...
Or people just stop moaning about it, it's been part of the game since day one. It really doesn't bother me as a fan.
... have to disagree Luvvy ... never saw anything like it when I first started watching footy ... if a defender had tried it he'd have got severely slapped by the forwards of the day ... personally i'f dlike to see it stamped out because it has become embarrassing to watch .. all it needs is one brave ref to speak to the players before a game and warn that shirt holding is a foul and that anyone doing it will be penalised ... if you do it in the penalty area that will be a penalty ... then follow it through. A couple of pens given and it would soon stop ... if I want to watch scrummaging I can pop down to Welford Road and watch Leiceater Tigers!
I've always done it since I was a kid, had to deal with a few thick lips and bruised heads because of it but that was just part of it to me, I don't think the small tug of a shirt is a problem. If a player is clearly dragged back and it really does affect his run then the ref should call it but you can't go giving a pen for every little tug as the forwards are just as bad and look to pin defenders.
