    1m Ghanaati (USA) (14Jun09) 1m 38.32s 1m 40.00s (round track as it was Coronation)
1m Invisible Man (16Jun10) 1m 37.16s 1m 39.00s (straight track as it was Hunt Cup)

1st time is course record, second is standard

Thanks Nass.....So the straight track is on average 1 second faster, that makes Frankels time slightly better than CCs on the same day, though there's not much of a difference:biggrin:

More pace on in Frankel race but they finished slower. I would ignore Ascot times anyway, they came down different sides with differing ground.

Must admit that having backed Frankel, I'd be a bit happier if Hughesie was on top.

" Simple Poll: Frankel or Canford Cliffs "

Is it a two horse race?
My vote goes to the verbal diarrhoea that will be spoken afterwards!

That's mad to think that Ghanaati holds the course record when you consider the horses that have raced here

Whoever thinks Rajsaman will win needs their head seen to!

Frankel by just under a length, holding on at the end.

The course record that was being quoted was for Ascot not Goodwood. The records there are all new since the rebuild in 2005 – all the old records are cast in stone.

I spent a brief moment in Totesport/BetFred and the punters have piled on Frankel. He is now 4/6 and Canford Cliffs is 13/8. They’ve obviously been reading this thread!

Well the majority are going for Frankel, as is the money.

    Good luck all!

It was billed the duel on the downs, well it wasn't much of a duel was it? I think we've just seen why Canford Cliffs couldn't even win the Guineas and to think he beat the so called "great" Goldikova. I think we've just seen the definition of great today. Frankel is the best miler ever, alongside Brigadier Gerard

Can't you just praise a horse without needing to bash another?

Well done to Frankel, as said, happy to have the wrong prediction this time. Class act.

Frankel IS a star, there's not a shred of doubt now! Canford Cliffs cleary below his best today the way he was hanging all over the place like Workforce in the King George but that's racing!

Woolcombe I've pretty much given you the tipping comp now <laugh>
