No reason not to keep trying it over and over and over again though and it still doesnt work. Hopefully Diame plays in that no10 role again

Cant blame Clucas for that. What a joke. Stopping every cross is simply impossible. Why not blame Dawson for giving Nugent a yard. Or Elmo for skying a shot he was too worried about getting hit so he hit it early.

I can't help but wonder what would have happened had that been Snodgrass.

Well Snodgrass had a chance on his right Boot and fluffed it. If we went up things would just be the same, we would struggle massively, Steve Bruce (no matter how much I like him) would stay and this boring conservative David Meyler football would continue. I can count a handful of decent weekend last season. This season I can remember a hell of a lot more. MK Dons away 12 quid with a win against 50 at Anfield and not getting a look in. Perhaps this is what the team needs to start a change as we seem stagnant

Too many passengers in the team at the moment and come to think of it, younger players who have not been under this sort of scrutiny and pressure before. Clucas, totally invisible last night, Dave (when you're remonstrating with team mates after 10 minutes theres something wrong) and for as much as Robbie had a good second half, every team knows just to turn inside him and he's in trouble. I personally feel they would be better players with someone on the pitch who guides guides all of them/ encourages them and part of our problem as has been well documented on here is we don't have that player. Everyone seems left to their own devices.

OOPS OLM this was supposed to be on MDT.

Championship was fun this season because of the squad we have, but we could well have a Fulham season next year which wouldn't be fun.

True. Hwever someone the other week made a fantastic point. Now that we have tasted the Premier League we realise what it is and it isnt all that. Football is all about Money. The team want to go up for the money. Not for success. Thats why cups mean nothing anymore. My life is less stressful out of the premier league.

Anyway football league days are a lot more enjoyable

If anything I would have thought that would have made the Cup more important!

This is why I was so distraught that we didn't take the Cup seriously. :(

I can blame Clucas. He could have least tried to stop the cross.
You can't blame Dawson for Nugent's goal. The ball was behind Nugent but he did fantastically well to get it and direct it. No defender would be able to get that ball.
Both Snodgrass's and Elmohamady's were only half chances. Snodgrass was coming in at speed and stretching and Elmo was challenged although keeping the ball down would have helped. Chances are rarely easy in football. We missed a lot easier chances last season.

Easy chances have been missed this season as well, particularly in the first part of the season and more recently.

Let's look on the bright side. I thought we were going to get beaten easily. I know we have a lot of problems but we looked the better side.

In a way you are right, however throughout the whole match apart from one misplaced challenge in the 88th minute, Clueless Clucas didn't lay a glove on anybody, not a single tackle! For a midfielder that's embarrassing. He simply stands off the opposition and puts them under zero pressure. For me as I said beforehand he would have been nowhere near the starting eleven yesterday. One good cross in 95 minutes of football. 4 out of 10.
