It's a Eureka moment ! That's the answer. The Stadium should have no seats installed but rails on each row that seats clip onto and 'butt' sideways up to each other. Every fan's backside is measured at the start of the season and priced accordingly 20cm width £ 10 month 30cm width £ 15 month and so on Kids will pay less and fat bastard adults pay much more because they take up more room. Each fan is then given their own portable seat to take to each game. It's fair and equitable. You pay for the space you use. Anyone who sends a slimmer imposter at the start of the season shall soon be recognisable to stewards by their fellow fans reaction as a porky twat sits half on his seat and half on his neighbour's lap. Now, who's got James Mooney's email ?
Saturday 7th May, I propose a world record attempt for the most participants in a game of musical chairs. When Eye of the Tiger stops, that's your seat for next season!
That's a different issue to the one I was answering, however, that shouldn't be as impossible as you seem to suggest, given other clubs manage it.
Anyone who sends a slimmer imposter at the start of the season shall soon be recognisable to stewards by their fellow fans reaction as a porky twat sits half on his seat and half on his neighbour's lap. The slight floor in your otherwise 'exemplary' idea is that we all be flat out spending money on pies to get those extra loyalty points so we can save 25p in the club shop
I never suggested it was impossible, I just said it was difficult and best done in one go, rather than being drawn out over more than one season.
You make it sound acceptable to piss off large numbers of supporters in expensive seats as long as it only happens once. These proposals to either close west upper or make it away only are unacceptable and you should be opposing it. I sit in west lower and am also concerned that I could be vulnerable to objects thrown from upper tier by away fans and also access/exit risks of fans mixing. Also people sitting near disabled areas may be at risk of ejection. Mooney from the club told Burnsey yesterday morning that they are looking at spreading the ambulant disabled fans and their carers from a concentrated area to seats near the various disabled platforms. Reason given was getting them out quicker in an emergency.
Which is only your opinion. The fact others manage it is one point I was making, as well as, from experience, more time would enable more things to be done to soften the impact.
I didn't say that at all, I just said it's better to piss people off once, rather than twice. Whether or not the away fans should be moved to the West Upper is a different matter, though it's an idea that I know has a lot of support, many have been calling for it since the KC opened.
This is how I see it - all those getting evicted (1700 West Stand) and the hundreds from the South Stand should get first dibs in choosing the new seats. However, existing season ticket holders will have until a certain date to renew thereby limiting the options available for the evictees. So the "best" seats are tied up for a certain period. No doubt there'll be quite a few who won't renew after the set date which means that after the mad scramble to get whats on offer, "better" seats become available. Is there going to be a system whereby a person can change their seat after the cut off point, and if there is, there will be another mad scramble to change again. By this time, assuming we get into the Premier league, there will be competition for those seats available from everyman and his dog who have decided they'd like to see Wayne Rooney etc.
You have a plan but I bet large numbers of upper west do not take up any seat options. They are being asked to sacrifice being under cover with some of best views for mostly unwanted seats at the lowest points of the ground where you get soaked in rain or sleeted on or snowed on etc......just think about it
Don't think that's correct. I'm sure it's always been considered the best case scenario, when people have bemoaned the number of empty seats caused by segregation. And I don't remember anyone ever objecting to the idea. I could be wrong. I will say that I consider west upper to be the best view in the stadium.
I can't imagine the Allams care where the away support are housed! They don't go to games! And they don't care about the fans!
Much Ado About Nothing. I go with my Brother. This will save us a significant amount of money. Which is good. Don't see why we should be subsidising other peoples kids. Don't care where we sit (Ha!) as long as we have a decent view. We go to watch Hull City play football, and hopefully win, not to join a choir or listen to some drunken half-wit telling professional footballers that he/she could do the job better. If you don't like it I suggest you protest in the strongest possible terms by not taking up "membership". Pay as you go or don't go. I don't like Speedway, but instead of whining about it I don't go, and leave those who do to enjoy it. Easy.
