It was heard today that Lord Justice's Laws, McCombe and Floyd have upheld the decision made by Lord Justice Proudman and turned down Bristol Rovers appeal against that judgement. A spokesperson for Bristol Rovers said: "We will be looking closely at the judgement to assess its implications for the Club and it's future and will make a further statement in due course." http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/stadium-appeal-verdict-3011291.aspx#eAh1GYVqlLtXwQTv.99
It worries me that the statement suggested they will look as todays decision! I hope its not further appeals. I also hope (sorry to gasheads who live there) that we now sale the mem to something far worse than a supermarket and make TRASH look bad that they would wish they didnt get involved with us and Sainsburys. Be careful what you wish for TRASH!
Remember when we were refused planning permission at Siston Common and then sometime later travellers moved on to the site and now what do they have? The................................................................................... ........................... please log in to view this image
Some things maybe lawful, but that does not mean it's morally right Sainsbury's need to have a good look at themselves. I used to work for a national retailer - all they worry about is profit
The thing that annoys me is that they had full intentions to pull out but couldnt find a reason to do so. They then thought of the idea to try for longer delivery hours and putting in a poor application to apply for it knowing full well it would turned down that will then give them a reason to pull out. However at this point they agreed for Rovers to appeal the delivery hours application on Sainsburys behalf and Rovers paid for it. If they had no intentions in pursuing the land, why let Rovers continue to spend money in appealing the delivery hours application? And now out of all this, we will have to pay damages to Sainsburys! Shocking.
Since shamesburys started all this s**t I have refused to spend my hard earned cash in there stores, and I will remain to do so until the day I die..!! I hope it comes back to bite them on the ass one day!
TRASH is to blame. They delayed it for so long. If they hadnt, Sainsburys would have been built and we would have been playing in UWE already. However, if TRASH didnt delay for so long and Sainsburys didnt pull out, would Higgs still be with us? Would the Al Qadi's been interested? I think what has happened has been a blessing. Now lets move on and sale the land to someone far worse to stitch up the local nimbys and TRASH.
I agree with you that revolting woman who formed trash didn't help, and who is now responsible for sport developments in Bristol....lmfao!! But sainsburys have not only screwed us over by pulling the plug, but also a list as long as your arm of business they have also pulled the plug on! They have simply put the brakes on with the building of major stores. All this bo****ks of delivery times was just a way out. Ok we have been dealt an ace with a new owner, and yes luckily we can move on from this... But it would of been a totally different ball game if we hadn't had a new owner... And some still very p****d off gasheads after hearing today's decision.
It would have been devasting. I was told administration was a real possibility! Not worth thinking about! I got my fingers in my ears and my eyes wide shut while shouting lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala now
Like you say onwards and upwards, but shamesburys will always remain as a thorn in the history of Bristol Rovers football club. And not the friendly superstore that care!!
So Tesco's booted you out and now Sainsburys. Here's waiting for Asda to put a supermarket up on the UWE site
