    Tories failing spectacularly

    Broke every promise
    Failed every forecast
Debt increased despite pledging to reduce it
Borrowed more than the last labor government despite pledging to borrow nothing
Slowest recovery from recession in 100 years
Boasting about halving the deficit over five years when the plan was to eliminate it
Housebuilidng at its lowest level since the 1920s
Manufacturing and construction operating below their pre-recession levels
    Fewer owner-occupiers
    Homelessness up by one third
An extra half-a-million people on zero-hour contracts
First fall in living standards over a five-year period since modern records began in 1960
More than 900,000 people relying on food banks, a 15-fold increase since the last election
Front line services cut to the bone
Social Care standards below acceptable level due to under funding

To top it off they think they're doing a ****ing great job <doh> And what's the alternative? A Coburn government? Yeah right. ****ing shambles of a country.

The torys are absolute evil ****s but in a strictly economical sense they've done well. It was never going to be possible to reduce the debt with the deficit as high as it was. They're on course to wipe out the deficit within their 10 years in power which is a frankly astonishing achievement.

Their budget announcement today was, I thought, their first good and fair one. Increased tax-free personal allowance and sugar tax, 2 things I massively, massively agree with.

That said, they've really hurt the poor over the last 6 years and the rich seem to have got richer. I hate them, absolutely hate them, but to question them on the good they've done for the economy is unfair imo.

This should create some friendly banter then <laugh>

I'm staying out of it actually, politics only ever ends up with beef.

But their media darlings are telling everyone that things have never been better...
If Labour had made such a pigs ear of the economy there would be uproar with them..

That is the only fair way to make the wealthy pay their fair share...That is exactly the reason the Tories try to reduce it and put it onto taxes that hit the less wealthy.

Yep. Make one rate of 10% tax on all earnings without tax breaks or offshore accounts would be a fairer way.

I'm not classed as a high earner, or a low earner for that matter, but I would be prepared to pay a larger percentage of tax than the current rate if it meant protecting services and creating a better and fairer society..

It's amazing how politics divides people, several blokes can get on like a house on fire then 5 minutes later they can't stand each other.

I couldn't even remain in the room with some of the posters on here if they started chatting politics, before long it becomes condescending and emotional and that's normally when Tel starts listening to the devil on his shoulder.

I was thinking to start a thread today about people's vote for the EU referendum in the event that we were hit by a huge recession like 2008 beforehand. Let's prop the Greeks and Italians up and let our country go to worse ****.... Just a thought.

I'm off for a blast on the Xbox instead, **** it.

There has to be a better governing system for our world to operate in than this current culture of greed that humanity has immersed itself into - besides the majority of politician nowadays are just corrupt self serving sociopaths

I moved here in December having applied for a visa about 18 months ago. It was common knowledge on here. You can wait for a medal in the post if you like but you may be waiting a while.

I'm the opposite mate...I can have totally different politics to someone and argue my points with them all day, but at the end of the day I wouldn't let it change how I feel about them.

Too many people are thinking if we come out then the immigration crisis will get better for us <laugh> The immigration crisis wont change and will probably get worse for us on our own. People need to look what will happen to the economy, jobs and life style if we come out as the stay in group have made it plain what will happen with the out group saying they dont know and can only at best guess what will happen. How anyone can gamble on their families future is beyond comprehension. Until the out brigade can give me some facts on how it will effect me and my family without all this political speak that tells you sod all then i will be voting to stay in...
