This is the exact case for my Dad and I. His sight isn't the best and he finds watching the match from that view the most engaging. We have sat in other stands, but this is the one that suits us. Saving £100 or so isn't important whereas having zero options of similar seating is. Even if the top of the West Lower would be a compromise for him, those seats and anywhere near then centrally are just not available.
I know this may sound silly to some, like your parents I've been a pass holder in the upper west since the KC opened, its not just the fact we have to move to inferior seats, but a lot of folks myself included have built up friendships with people around us, plus the idea of getting us down to the KC to chose our seats is o.k. if you live local, myself its a 140 mile round trip, other's I sit with come from even further away (Nottingham in one instant)
Changes already... The West Stand 'corporate' bit on the website now has Price On Application instead of £51 per month Probably getting flak from the Premier Club mob that already pay much more then that per month.
Explain this to my 8 year old lad please. I think you'll find he says this doesn't make sense and it's unfair. I would say he has a point, but I don't understand your point
It hasn't been thought through. Next season,I expect to see the South Stand Family Area full of adults and their 6ft &15st nephews that look remarkably grown up for their age.
I don’t buy this. The HDM would have had the pages for this designed, written and at print way before Mr Burns tweeted anything. Serious question, if you (or any of us) had had to pay full adult price at Boothferry Park or at the KC when you first started going, do you think you'd still be a regular now? While it's probably easy for most of us to say yes, I know for a fact I'd have struggled to pay those prices week in week out.
Not a chance. The difference between 9 d and 1s/6d was enough for 5 Park Dive & a box of matches. 60 years later I'm still smoking regularly.
OK, it just seemed rather tight. Burns tweeted at 9.58pm last night and yet HDM have a fully printed paper with the details ready this morning. I'm used to working to tight deadlines myself but that turnaround seems exceptional!
I can honestly say that I think i'm done. I cant afford/justify paying £1200 a year for 20ish lad & dad afternoons - that's an increase of pretty much 100%. I don't want to sit in the south with all kids, (I'm not even sure they could fit all of the parents with kids into the family stand if they all decided they want to go). I can see the KC being like a graveyard next season if we don'y get promotion.
<- THIS How many of us were still 'sneaking' in as under 14 / 16 at Boothferry ?? Children - have so many other choices to spend there money nowadays - this will be a poor expensive option for most (& parents) - yes monthly direct debits - no! How much of a problem was the 'misuse' of child passes really? Just another excuse Cheaper passes - Sjtoke manage okay Cheaper passes - as noted earlier without the large price hikes over the last few years - this would not be needed Caring about fans see the E1/E2 debacle which has not helped the atmosphere IF we go up it's only a small % of 'profits' from season pass / membership scheme anyway Amazing that for such a good idea no other club has implemented it ... Complete Omnicockupwomble shambles ...
I don't know the answer as to whether i would of gone if I had to pay full price, the adult prices at Boothferry park were not so bad and I don't think the gulf in price difference was the same. Additionally, seats (potentially next year in the prem league) will be at a premium, why should some toe rag get it for next to nowt when I am paying 500+ when it is the same thing we are buying. At Boothferry, space was aplenty in tons of areas especially standing, so why not let kids in cheaper. I understand what you are saying, but it still does not make it fair that I/You/Anyone has to subsidise other other people seats. I am not saying that I am 100% (maybe 80% ATM) pro the idea, but I like the idea that 'a seat costs what a seat costs'. I have just confused myself now......FFS
You don't have to go in the Family Stand to avoid paying £1200, you've got plenty of other options where the two of you could sit from £648 to £828.
Under 14s didn't come into it at Boothferry. You paid a price as an under 16. Then you paid full price. No concessions up to 22 like now, many of who will be earning and have more disposable income than their parents they live at home with. So it isn't comparable.
