He's a narcissistic, self-publicizing twat who loves to be the centre of attention. One of the few referees I positively dislike.

I will say Montero will not start, no idea what he has done wrong tbh bar being as useless as half of the team, I would start with Kingsley and with McBurnie up front (cannot be worse than the other 2). Scouts needs a good bum shafting as does the man who authorizes the signings of crap players. 2-1 is my tip, I hope 4-0 however we are so crap at crossing STILL, I need a page to vent my frustrations

Mcburnie is at Bristol Rovers so that may be a bit difficult.

He hasn't had any service yet plus he's always onside so I'd say no :)

I hope this is not a repeat of the Wolves game in our first season in the prem! They were down and out and got a 4-4 draw.

Whoever the ref is dont matter if we can play our game in the right way. Mike Dean is a very good ref, one of very few in the premiership and if we lose then we will have managed that all on our own. Villa are awful this season and know fully well they are relegated but they will still be hard to beat if we are too complacent. Just look how many times we beat a top team only to follow that up losing to a bottom side. Roll on the end of the season i say so we can end this nightmare of a season.

As strange as it may seem not that often. In the past 2 seasons when we have played a bottom team after a top team that we have beaten we have beaten the bottom team 3 out of 4 times:
2014/2015 beat Manure and then followed that up with beating Burnley (twice and stangely enough the same score 2-1/1-0).
2015/2016 beat Arsenal and then followed that up with beating Norwich
2015/2016 beat Manure and lost to Sunderland

I do agree with you though that we cant afford to be complacent as there are no easy games especially for us this season.

"Mike Dean is a very good ref"? <doh>

Most experts say that the benchmark of a good ref is one who doesn't necessarily get everything right all the time (because there's no such animal) but is one you tend not to notice. Dean is the complete opposite as he clearly loves being the centre of attention. I thoroughly dislike him because of that.

I used to think Mike Dean was arrogant but I think he has developed into one of the best. TV replays show he doesn't get much wrong these days. My opinion of him went up when he was warming up a couple of seasons ago when he made a kiss my arse gesture to those who were giving him stick in the East Stand.

But that's just it. Refs shouldn't be the star of the show. Ever. I prefer refs who make mistakes occasionally but who don't go out of their way to grab the limelight. Refs are NOT who we pay to watch and someone should tell him.

A ref who thinks the game revolves around him.
