yeh it kind of implies you did something to gain it in the 1st place, rather than was just the victim of a foul in the box. Almost all pens won now have a few run over to them and hug them all smiles and laughter
I don't think so RDBD, the only psychology in play is (I fear) that as long as there are subjective decisions to be made then they are likely to go to the bigger team (or to the Sky favourite 5 when they are not in the top 4!) This is why I would prefer a return to a more black and white set of rules such as you're either offside or not, so the ref doesn't have to decide whether someone is active / interfering with play etc.
"Or we get given a dodgy pen when we play you resulting in you falling out of the top 4, i hope" Staring at Brentons' teeth for too long has blinded you to the current likelihood that the former could cause the latter.

Penalties are often "won" in proper way, by skinning a defender whose late challenge then brings the forward down. Penalties are stupid except when they are the last desperate attempt to avoid a clear goal scoring opportunity. I know a lot are conceded when the forward is going nowhere (they are the stupid ones), but not all of them.
Enjoyed listening to Koeman even if no one in the studio appeared to be capable of asking him anything interesting. Come on, Rafa! \o/
Not specifically about this one, but why aren't overhead kicks in the box ruled out for dangerous play? Boots at head height and all that. If you did similar kick in the middle of the field it would probably be a foul! It's another example of rules that appear to be different when something happens in the box, but as far as I know the rules don't make an exception for being in the area.
I haven't seen it but seriously, was it a dive? Was kind of surprised when he was diving against us to get free kicks because (surprise surprise) the pundits had failed to mention that part of his game.
I remember that one season when every time Bale went down foul or not, he was accused of diving. It was almost beyond belief how biased the pundits were against him/us
Mahrez had the ball on the right wing, he was on the touchline going back towards his own goal, colback is right behind him just standing his ground trying to hustle him, sissoko comes over to help colback out, mahrez then just throws himself to the ground
