And pre ELP from a performance by The Nice, those of you old enough will recognise the theme tune of the ITV programme 'This Week'...

Well I have to say this album has to be one of my favorite of all time. I was 11 when it came out and being it was the mid 80's and liking my synth pop this just blew my sox off.

Emerson, Lake & Powell is the only studio album by the band Emerson, Lake & Powell and was released in 1986. Two further albums comprising rehearsals (The Sprocket Sessions) and live material (Live in Concert) were subsequently issued in 2003.

The album's cover graphic is based on the corporate logo used in the 1930s by the German cigarette manufacturer, Haus Bergmann.[citation needed]

"The Score" is used as the company theme music of professional wrestling promotion New Japan Pro Wrestling, played at live events, press conferences and to signify New Japan wrestlers' involvement on other companies' shows (usually to provoke a negative crowd reaction from said promotions' core fans).

"Touch and Go" is based on the traditional English folk song "Lovely Joan", though uncredited.[2]

With the March 2016 death of Keith Emerson, Greg Lake is the last surviving member on this album.

I must have bought this album 5+times now as had it on cassette, then CD's which being how much I play this album don't last, then download.

It's one of those albums you have to listen to uninterrupted as it just works!

Also I love Powell's hard thudding metal hard rock drumming!

Truly tragic end to a fantastic musician. Some of the "old school" musicians truly were perfectionists of their craft - can't see many of todays X Factor "super-stars" being that bothered if they miss a note.

    RIP Keith <rose>
