Congratulations to the Hull Daily Mail who made their site impossible to use. As you try and scroll down to read an article a full page ad comes up instead. That's in spite of using Ad Blocker that worked very well until yesterday. Do they actually pay someone to manage that site or do they just bring in a monkey and give it a keyboard?
I'm using it on google chrome if that helps. I don't know if you will be able to post comments as I don't post any on there.
I've been blocked. The HDM say they randomly block users. So they can randomly **** right off as far as I'm concerned.
I only read it on my phone & iPad, the laptop version just keeps ads popping up & constantly playing videos of some ****e!
Think you are being a bit harsh there. On the monkey. I'm bloody sure most monkeys could do a better job than the HDM. Currently I would describe their website as "unusable". I can't believe advertisers pay to be used to irritate punters.
I tweeted this morning to let them know that on an iPad you can't read any article, you just get a full page Sainsburys advert that you can't remove. They're looking into it apparently, though even when it's running normally it's utter ****e.
Shame as there's been some good court cases on there of late inc the lass caught shagging in Queens Gardens on cctv and the copper messing up the case with his creeping evidence. She described herself as "10' on a scale of 1-10 when asked how pissed she was.
I stopped using HDM site ages ago due to endless pop-up ads making the site an absolute nightmare, had a look this morning and amazingly it is even worse.
Revenge is a dish best served cold. 'One of own' pictured in court case on front page. Never trust a shirter.
On an iPad or iPhone... You just press the text button in the Url box to read the page as a text only option. It removes all the ****e. Simples.
I frequently look at the HDF's HCAFC site on an iPad. Until today, an ad for Clinique has always popped up, which is easy to X away, but which then pops up again a few seconds later, ad infinitum. So far, it hasn't happened at all today. But it's still one of. the crappiest websites I've ever seen.
Not had any problems regarding ads (adblock for Firefox seems to work). However, it's poorly maintained and managed. Every article's comment section is invaded by spam and, petty as it maybe, the 'up/down' scores to rate each comment are often manipulated to give ridiculous overall scores. Petty indeed, but worth noting that, from what I've observed, certain political views are maxed out with negative scores. Tacit views of the paper/editorial? Possibly.
If you could do a quick summary every morning and post it on here that would be ideal Thanks in advance
