Epsom gallops in the morning then off to Sandown for the Imperial Cup. A lovely warm up for the big meeting. Good luck to Affaire D'honneur, sure it would be a very popular winner on here. Very much looking forward to seeing Copper Kay in the Mares bumper as she has been on my to follow list from day one. Anyone else going?
No TTF engaged until Sunday when I see MANY CLOUDS (IRE) and INVITATION ONLY (IRE) are currently engaged to run Double Honour and Reebok will be pleased to see the latter
Two Taffs has any amount of improvement in him Nass and I hear that MPR are really bigging up their horse. Its a high quality field but the one I fancy is FLASHJACK. In Dickie we trust!
3.45 Sandown Tearsofclewbay. Philip Hobbs looks to have a stranglehold on this race with hot favourite Copper Kay and Tearsofclewbay. Whilst Richard Johnson clearly has a soft spot for the favourite and it was probably a no-brainer for him to ride her, there are a couple of reasons why I think Tearsofclewbay might upset the jolly. Firstly, this is Tearsofclewbay's first attempt at 2 miles having won twice over 1m 7f. In both of those races she has really extended away in the final furlong, which makes me think she will improve for the extra furlong today. Secondly, with Copper Kay's penalty and Connor Smith's claim, Tearsofclewbay gets 11lbs from Copper Kay. On a form line through Mr Henderson's Theatre Territory there isn't much between the 2 on paper. I might even play the reverse forecast
Sandown 3.45 Avellino 15/2 e/w It could prove folly to dimiss the Irish raider's chance in this, they've claimed the prize the last 2 runnings. Her form suggests she should be competitive in mares listed company, having been beaten on debut less than a couple of lengths by a Mullins horse being touted as a Champion Bumper runner. Won her next 2 starts easily, and in doing so showing a similar level of form to Battleford, a Champion Bumper 16/1 shot. No doubt the unfashionable trainer has helped leave her a backable price but I'm hopeful she'll go very dam close in this.
I'd we're all chucking one in for the the 3:45 then might aswell throw my selection in: Sister Sybil 18/1 ew Tom O'Briens only ride of the day and any improvement from this horses debut should see it in the first 3
Three wagers today to boost the war chest next week Sandown 3.10-For Good Measure win 6/1-Has been put away since winning a decent handicapp in December for the inform Hobbs yard and a big run looks on the cards 3.34-Copper Kay 9/4 win-Dickie Johnson rates this mare very highly and was very impressive winning a listed event at Cheltenham in November Limerick 5.00-The Grandson win 9/4.My nap of the day!!Was a 50/1 shot runner up to the useful Babbling Stream at Nass lto and should put that experience to good use against this moderate bunch.
Elusivity at 3.25 in the 13:40 at Wolverhampton Wood Yer at 6.50 in the 13:50 at Chepstow Desert Joe at 8.00 in the 14:35 at Sandown Good luck! http://freebetcalc.com/odds-calculator/trixie-calculator?prefill=3.25,6.50,8.00
Afternoon all - noticed Tom Scu makes an exit from Sandown after the 2.35 to go to the last 2 at Cheppy - 100/30 and 4/1 at present - 2 singles and a little double me thinks
Like a few others in the forum already on Affaire D'honneur in Sandown's Imperial Cup (15:10), but also had a bit on my own fancy Sirop De Menthe, plus a 'fantasy' r/f these two! GL all!
Wouldn't be a surprise mate, but she was only 4th here last year, and has the penalty this time too. Just think Avellino is hugely overpriced. If she wore a Mullins or Elliott saddlecloth what price would she be???
Lucky 31 at Wolverhampton as there is a few interesting runners reappearing in preparation . 140 elusivity 215 si senor 250 realize 325 midtech star 400 basil berry
