He is right, but only the referees can stamp it out, the rewards to gain are far too great.

Post match determined red cards or disallowed goals (pens) from replays; is probably hoping for too much from the FA ???

got a lot of time for Stan's views and agree on this as well. Can you imagine if this happened at the end of the season and resulted in your side be relegated. I'd be livid

It's sad that so many people, fans and pundits, believe a penalty was the correct decision.

Sorry, couldn't get past the first line with its reference to the 'soul and moral compass of football'. Weren't those sold a couple of decades ago?

This has sat uneasy with me for quite a while now. I think it started during the '98 World Cup when Diego Simeone fell into Seamen ( see video below at 1:00 ) to 'Win' a penalty. I couldn't understand it then and I can't understand it now. Especially after what happened to Shaun Derry at Old Trafford.

This pathetic pantomime is killing football.

If they gave red cards not yellow for simulation that would cut some of it out, also get a few sent off wrongly. We may have beaten 9 men Saturday too.

It is hard to get past the fact that anybody considers Stan Collymore the arbiter of decency and fairness! That said he does have a point and watching pundits on MOTD and the like saying "if there is contact you have to go down" is proof of the point he makes.

Similarly I am rather fed up with Alan Shearer going on as if his sh*t don't stink. Off the ball elbows anyone? Can't help himself bemoaning the state of his beloved Toon but he wasn't exactly up to the job of keeping them in the Premiership and didn't hang around to do the hard work of getting them out of the championship either.

you just have to look at the antics at corners, you could probably give penalties in 2 or 3 instances. They are nigh on shaggin each other. That should have been clamped down yonks ago. Time to use all the technology out there, if it delays the games by 5 minutes, so be it. Better that than some of the disgusting decisions made by the officials

His dive for our 1-0 defeat at Blackburn was my first ever away game. Cue 20 years of disappointment.

Use video evidence after the game if the officials have missed it at the time.
1st offence of being found guilty of simulation 1 game ban and no appeal, 2nd offence 2 game ban, 3rd offence 3 game ban etc.
Problem will be solved in weeks.

When someone says "He's got the right to go down" it makes me want to wommit. Is there no filter between their brain and mouth? How can they spew out stuff like that and sit there and believe it? I just don't get it. ****ing morons who helps ruin the game.

But to think cheating is something of a new era is wearing rose tinted glasses imo. This has always been around, with better coverage and replays etc. it is easier to tell though.

Most PL games I watch are as boring as hell, if it wasnt for the cheating diving villains I don't think I would bother any more, often the only bit of entertainment on offer

Francis Lee was never averse to a bit of 'simulation' in the sixties and seventies.

Don't have a problem with that myself. If a defender gets a yellow intentionally to break up an attack it's not trying to deceive anyone.

Yeah absolutely and I have to admit to applauding my player if he does it - but it does stick in the craw when some commentators pat the guy on the back for it. It's not in the same league though.

our Rodney was the past master for it, but over 90 minutes of cheating defenders trying to stop him, Rodney is excused of all criticism:emoticon-0105-wink:
