I got back to Consett last night and met up with a few lads to carry on drinking and they were as pissed off as I was but for them, they have already in their mind relegated us. Talk turned to the fact that there will be something like 9-10 away games within 2 hours drive (or 16 cans on the ACS mileage scale) which gave me food for thought... Whilst we need to be in the PL on a purely selfish level I've hated home games for a couple of years now. Trudging along thinking 'we will get beat' ain't a way to feel on a Saturday. When we do go down it will quite refreshing to watch whatever team we have hopefully win and score goals home and away. It is of course no replacement for the PL but I'm sick of moaning about NUFC so a break from the PL may give club and fans a chance to freshen things up and recharge our batteries.
If we go down and stay down for a few years this time it will make ashley more likely to sell which is a huge positive.
It won't though mate. It could go either way. He's a rich man is Mike and relegation will hurt. He may 'suddenly' start 'paying' for advertising to inject a lot of £££ into the club to bounce back straightaway.
