Having taken the upper hand, the last 15 were very disappointing and it looked like we were ones down to 10 at times. Thought Rose and particularly Walker had good games, but Dembele was anonymous and Eriksen was disappointing. Poch had to take Lamela off as he was likely to pick up a 2nd yellow - and Dier should have done. No doubt that's all we'll here from Wenger..... Pity that Kane's goal couldn't have won it - deserved to.
It looked like he caught him with the elbow, too. It may be a reasonable no call. Alternatively, it should be two yellows.
Good thing you took a screenshot of that. We were terrible. You pulled an Arsenel against Arsenal. It was like Bottlers Inception.
I've come to the conclusion that supporting Spurs is like being someone who struggles to get into relationships because all their previous partners have cheated on them, I want to think that this team is different but I have been so cruelly hurt in the past when things have looked so good and have to distance myself from the possibility that this team may be the 1.
Well said...I have to say that I fear that with trips to West Brom, Stoke, Liverpool and Chelsea and home matches v United and Southampton to happen we could well lose out on top 4...on the final day...again!
You expect the worst but it doesn't hurt any less when it actually happens. We have Villa & Bournemouth next, anything less than 6 points will be a disaster.
Not sure if this is a complement or a swipe at any body, but 'we would've beaten any other premiership team today.'
Only saw the first half. That looked like the usual huff and puff but create very little stuff from us. I assume the sending off changed the game?
My heart was broken by the Chicago Cubs. I became a Spurs fan because they're so obviously Cub-like. So in my case, I find the one as similar as possible to the one who broke my heart before in order to have my heart broken again. Going forward, I will count on nothing unless and until it's a mathematical certainty. And at that point, if it comes, I will check the math.
I was mildly less negative about the first half. We both created one really dangerous ball by luck. Theirs barely went in, ours barely missed. But, yes, the deserved sending off changed the game. We had an utterly dominant five minutes or so where we got two goals and missed a third by about one or two inches. Then we subbed Lamela. We both lost the initiative and didn't bother defending our goal. Arsenal could have had three or four in the last twenty minutes or so.
Remember in our disappointment at not closing out the game : Kane - aged 22 - 2nd PL season; Alli - aged 19 - 1st PL season Dier - aged 21 - 2nd PL season Mason - aged 24 - 2nd PL season Wimmer - aged 23 - 1st PL season Son - aged 23 - 1st PL season They're kids who haven't done this before. First half - meh. Second, we ripped at them but lost the plot when we went ahead. Disappointing but they'll learn. Going to throw up now!
And none of you thought you would be in this position at the start of the season. I am hoping we can do you a favour this evening.
We drew the game today because we didn't manage the game properly after we went 2-1 up. We needed to take the sting out of the game, slow it down and keep the ball. I don't know if it was lack of experience or wether it was the tactical change taking Lamela off and bringing Mason on, but it seemed to play into their hands. They bypassed our midfield nullifying our numerical advantage and played quick direct passes into their attackers. Arsenal certainly deserved a draw and it pains me to say that but what a chance we had today to go top and go 6 points clear of them. Still, its hard to be negative about Spurs this season, we have been superb and we are still within a chance of the title. I still fancy Watford to get a result against Leicester later on.
The thing is we shouldn't be relying on other teams ''to do us a favour'', we have had 2 matches where we have had a massive opportunity to really prove ourselves and we have failed miserably on both occasions. On the other hand, if you would have said to me 8 games ago we would win 6 and draw 1 I would have snapped your hand off. Just very disappointing to not beat your rivals.
The ref was getting itchy Lamela had to go before he was sent off so I cannot criticise MP for subbing him. It was such a high when Kane scored it's impossible not to feel disappointed with the draw. I need the perspective that tomorrow will bring, right now I just feel sick.
Agreed that it's disappointing but we are fighting for the title - something nobody on here thought would happen at the start of the season. Think we all need a little reality check - if we get top 4 this season, ideally top 3, then it's still been a fantastic season (admittedly with a "what could have been" twinge to it).
