Not disputing that, not really disputing anything, just pointing out that it can be 45 minutes and not at least 60 minutes as was stated - but televised is at least an hour, so it applied last night. They have an extra 15 minutes for later rounds FA Cup. Rules of referees, but on on a device to quote it accurately. RULE 15 (b) (i)
The Football League rule 33.5 clearly states at least 60 minutes before kick -off, so don't know which rule applies.
This is a commonly used guide or was, as far as I recall. It gives guidance for general games and specific FA competitions. A referee can and will normally settle on 60 mins, but, in a regular, non-televised, league game, a club can ask for the 45 mins rule to be applied. This makes for interesting reading (if you're bored ) Different for a Premier League game: http://www.premierleague.com/conten...handbooks/premier-league-handbook-2015-16.pdf I would be interested if anyone knows of these rules being superseded.
Sure enough, it's a constantly moving feast! Why can't they all be the same? (televised seems self-explanatory, but for 15 mins longer, why not make them all the same ) http://www.football-league.co.uk/global/section5.aspx
That only happens because Dawson plays him in trouble, their man was always coming for robbo, and the pass from Dawson was under hit. Even if robbos first touch is perfect all he's doing is smashing it clear like Dawson should
Yes.- but Robertson still chose the wrong option, the most dangerous one. He could have shielded the ball until a pass backwards or sideways became available, or turned towards the touchline and probably got a throw-in when trying to clear down the line. Dawson put him into moderate trouble, but not an immediate goal threat - Robertson was far more at fault. It was his decision that led to them having the ball in a central area against an exposed defence.
A lot of the problems stem from Robbo being 95% one footed IMO. This is why I cannot see him making it at the highest level… he's improved of course, but thats something that he seemingly cannot change. On the other hand Dave has two feet and is by far a better player.. but thats just my opinion.
Jake shares th blame, could have stopped their man, got strung up like a kipper and may as well have slipped on his arse.
Agree, I've noticed this as well. Rarely does the ball hit the back of the net & most end up being hoofed into the stand behind the goal
Aye, finger gilch, but not a bother. Folk usually just send a PM to offer a chance of deletion - did you need to repeat it?
That won't help our keeper much either then as he won't be tested much. I remember people saying McGregor could be weaker with long shots, well if his own team don't test him with those that would probably explain why.
Is this when Curtis reads the riot act as he did in the FA Cup… I hope so… "We need to sharpen or be a bit more ruthless," he said. "Some of the things are falling around the box and we are just not putting them away. We are half-heartedly going for it and it's not really happening." I think Dave is better too, Brady was better also. Robertson is a bright lad and a bit younger so I reckon he can catch up with those two although Brady will always be much better technically
Spot on this bit. Diame was the same. They need to look at strikers like Vardy who's always making a nuisance of himself. Fryatt used to do it. Jelavic and Long were excellent at it. Even Sagbo used to put himself about in the early days. Diame would maybe say he's not a striker but I really don't think Hernandez should be on his own up front. He's never going to do that job of hassling people and giving us an outlet. Almost every left back is one footed.
Hernandez chases everything down and hassles everyone, he's just not a big physical presence. He's not a lazy **** who just stands about, he puts his shift in, he's just not strong in the challenge. But that's ok, he's a striker, unless you'd prefer another defender up front? I think this cold weather is probably the biggest factor in his loss of form. A year isn't long enough to get used to these cold wet temperatures when you've soent your life in the exotic climates of Uruguay and Sicily.
