I wouldn't want either of them. Moyes has been sacked from his last two clubs, and Rogers lost the plot at Liverpool. Benitez for me, but it'll have to happen soon. Ashley is playing with fire keeping that half wit in charge.
I think we have to realistic here. Moyes is the sort to get us out of trouble. He doesn't seem to allow the sort of attitude that Sissoko etc. get away with. Rogers is a young manager who did an excellent job at Swansea and almost won the league at Liverpool (albeit with Suarez there). I like the idea of someone who approaches the game like Rogers. Liverpool played some unbelievable football under him. Who are we to say we wouldn't take either of those managers? Can you imagine a manager whose last job was managing Real Madrid coming to NUFC? Not a chance.
I would be genuinely over the moon with Laudrup, Rodgers, Moyes. But we all know it'll be another football low-life. It would not surprise me if we hired AJ as academy director, seriously.
Don't want Mr Boring Moyes and don't want lets continue with Roberto Martinez's formula but take all the credit Rodgers. Paul Clements for me and if we get relegated keep him and tell him it is a 5 year plan where we establish ourselves as a safe PL team and bringing through youth
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/newcastle/next-permanent-manager Rogers Moyes Benitez Pearson To be honest, I'd take sooty and sweep over tufty.
I like the IDEA of Clements, but being a good assistant does not guarantee a good manager. Being a decent coach - as we are proving game after game - has no bearing on someone's ability to be the main man. For me, Daveeeed was right this morning when he said just changing the manager simply isn't enough. It's a clean sweep of this club, but that starts with the owner because under that fat headed tosspot no such changes will happen. In a dream world, we rip the whole thing up and appoint Diego Simeone or Marcelo Gallardo. Failing that, which we will, plan b is Montella, Pereira or De Boer. Once Charnley's done pretending to call that shower, let's give Alan Curbishley a shot.
Oh, I don't think he's the answer - for my money he just carried on doing what Martinez set in motion. Just wondered why his odds in particular were so short.
Was sacked whilst in 5th position! Only a few points off the play off positions, seems to me that he was beginning to do it. Only young as well. Montella, De Boer, Simeone all went straight to management from being a player and not done them harm! But any of the managers would be ideal but I was going along the lines of potential relegation and none of whom you mentioned would consider us whereas as Clements (I would hope) would
Yeah, but Clements didn't go from player to management - he built a reputation as assistant at some huge clubs. But our very own Schteve did precisely that at the biggest club of all. Nothing wrong going from player to manager if your head is switched on, and you have respect.
Yeah but then Klopp has gone in and not really been much better... Liverpool have paid some serious money for seriously average players though, lots under Brendan, but I guarantee you'll see the same average coming in under Klopp. Top players go to the top 2/3 clubs, and outside of that it seems pot luck who signs a Mahrez/Payet and who signs a Mitrovic.
RAFA, well you gotta have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true. See what supporting this club has done to me, total raving loony toony Bet your bottom dollar, we win tomorrow and that total prick is still in charge. It's utterly wrong to wish for a defeat, but if l thought it would rid us of Tuffty and get us a half sane new manager, then...... I hope we get hammered into the ground.
If we are talking about a manager coming in straight away and having 10 games to change our fortunes and pull us up by our boot straps, then I would say it needs to be someone with big personality who will give the players a jolt. Probably Moyes or Pearson then for me in that respect, but in terms of a long term manager who is going to give the fans a feel good factor again (and sort the team out) I'm not even sure there is anybody. I would worry if McLaren was sacked and the decision was left to Charnley again because he has proved what all of us except for Ashley knew, that he is utterly incompetent and out of his depth. How could you leave the choice of a new manager to the man who thought Steve McLaren was the best we could do last time around?
I wouldn't want Moyes, Rodgers or Benitez. I'd like something fresh. Marcelo Gallardo. Sampoli. Someone who has a clear vision of what they want to do and a modern approach. I think Benitez, Rodgers and Moyes to fulfill that criteria.
Realistically though we need a short term fix. I'd look at Pearson on the proviso its just aimed at getting out of it.
Surely now he has to go. I mean I fully expect a statement by the club straight after the game saying he has been sacked. It's a complete joke.
