I'm worried that we've now moved on from definitely getting one world class striker, to now being "confident" of getting any striker at all. In another week that will be "we hope to add a striker", and by the end of the window we will be sat with what we have now minus 3 or 4 quality players. I think the fact we've failed to score against 2 mediocre American sides in pre season is the proof of what trouble we're in this season

Pardew actually said in the full interview that after what happened with Andy Carroll that he wouldn't ever promise anything again. He said he would say instead that he was confident. So in essence, it means the same thing.

to say the teams we didn't score against were mediocre is an understatement. Orlando are a very small side. It is quite scary, however we are missing a few key players. But the time to spend is now. Need to give them some training time and if Pardew is introducing this 'new system' they will need time to learn it!

Sorry guys, the deal fell through. They only offered me a three year deal at £15k a week. I thought I was worth much more than that and at least a 5 year deal.

We should have brought Sammy to the US! But we would still be short of decent striking options.

Now I'm not a big fan of this regime as you may have guessed from other posts. However while it would be nice to get a striker in, I want guaranteed goals so I'm happy to wait for right one. I realise we could end up in a world of hurt if we don't get one. But I don't any old tat up top, because as we've seen with Shola, that can be extremely detrimental to your play. Ideally it would happen now but we are a bottom feeder. The big clubs control the market so when they juggle their strike forces, we'll see movement. Whether that be in the form of loans or offloading, there'll be players available. And I'm not only talking about us taking players from them, I'm also talking about players whose clubs are unsure whether to sell, their mind made up by readymade replacements. Hopefully we'll get someone because relying on Ba is foolish. My other concern is left back and our lack of action. As a club we should have decided what we were doing with Jose, nevermind what he wants. I say it with a heavy heart because I love Jose. He has been first class, as a player and as a pro. A minor indiscretion on twitter out of frustration can't taint his service here. His career is simply moving quicker than the clubs progress. But the reality is he should have had a deadline of mid July. It all smells of a last minute sale, no replacement, youngsters Dummet, Fergie and Kadar suggested as options, no time, "Jose left us in limbo" and whatever smokescreen they can think of! If they are doing that they should tell us. Its the lies I hate. Same with Pardew misleading fans with his "fantastic" offer bull. Funny it became a "good" offer when it came to reprimanding him when he exposed them.

My wifes colleague works in Calais at the Eurotunnel control and has just checked the passport of a Mr J Vossen who stated he was here for business and asked directions to Newcastle.

He was being driven by a dwarf and when he checked his passport and visa it belonged to a Mr. Messy who asked if ameobas were still in the country.

That was probably Messi, not Messy. The ball really is moving now.

I wish he would just shut the **** up with his ****, I am sick of him talking and doing nothing. Instead of going on how he is "confident" of signing a new striker, just go and bloody do it and tell the fans when it is done!
