The title of a rather fine song by The Godfathers and also sums up what we have to look forward to.

    http://news.sky.com/story/1651811/work-until-mid-70s-warning-amid-pensions-review

It is an outrage that we are going to have to carry on working into our 70's but it is as a result of an ageing population due to better living standards and an extended life expectancy so what is the solution?

I've got a decent pension so I won't need to rely on the state hand-out, have you old feckers sorted yourselves out for your twilight years? I can see the day when the whole state pension scheme is abandoned and it will be everyone for themselves.

Unless you really can't work or you hate your job, I don't see an issue with working as long as you physically can.

The amount of stories I've heard of people giving up work only to die a few months/years later tells me that working is good for your health.

Tend to agree. If I can carry on where I am now at a lower grade once I hit 60 then I'll be happy. Like it or not work provides a sense of routine and order - and if we didn't have that there'd be bloody anarchy.

My Ma is a care worker and there's women doing the job who are older than those she has to visit and give medication to and put to bed.

If you're fit and want to work then you should be able to.

You are right, they should have a remembrance day like the forces.

One could donate to the Ploppy day fund.

They deserve a day of remembrance over the salaried armed men and women who murder innocents in all corners of the globe IMHO.

5% of the people in the world walk over everyone to get 80 % of the money so they can live super " Comfortably " the last 15 years of their life , if they make it that long , while drooling down their chin in a warm climate somewhere
Meanwhile , a third of the world starve and die of thirst while watching their kids die from disease .
Those with all the money.... Can shove their " Portfolios " where the sun don't shine .Success should be a game of who can help the most before you die .... Bill Gates is winning ....

5% of the people in the world walk over everyone to get 80 % of the money and hardly anyone bats an eyelid. An asylum seeker is pictured holding an iPhone and some are up in arms about it. Funny old world eh?

People should aspire to retire asap. It frees up jobs for the next generation, allows people to spend their cash so it boosts the economy and working is gay.

<--- will be retired at 40
