Luis Suarez has signed for the hub thieves from Liverpool. A bit miffed as he is a good player and I hoped during the world cup Utd may have gone for him. But hey we've no money and apparently they do??? Anyway could be a good player for them though a bit stupid if Torres does go and leave.

Does seem strange to bring in Suarez now who could be a good partner for Torres up front and yet the rumours that offers are being made for Torres appear to be quite strong. I would be surprised if a serious offer from Spain doesn't come in during the summer and even more shocked if Torres doesn't jump ship then.

Why would we want surez when we have berbatov rooney hernandez and Owen. Hernandez is becoming a top player and Berbatov is the best current striker in the league. Rooney when on form is also very good. Torres is most likely leaving

On the whole for every Van nistelrooy you get you will get a kuyt or a kezman or an alves.

What do people reckon will happen? Will he come good or will this league be too much for him? He scored like fifty goals last year but so did alves in the dutch league and he was bobbins. I didnt see much of uruguay in the world cup and dont watch Ajax prettty much ever, does he have enough quality to be a success over here.

Terrible attitude, often suspended and will be the biggest cheat on these shores. Decent player but won't be overly prolific. I'm sure of that.

I'll never forgive him for stopping the better team on the night getting to the semis this summer. What a cheating ****. Sorry for language but seriously, that sort of person just makes me so angry.

I quickly took a dislike to Suarez during the World Cup. He can go to Liverpool for me.

Ironically though, I was one of the few people (it seemed) who didn't despise him for his handball against Ghana – just all his cheating and moaning in every other game up until that point.

I have no problem with that. I'd have done the same myself if it benefitted my country. People forget that all Gyan had to do was score from 12 yards and bottled it too.

Regardless, his scoring record isn't all that, considering it's the Dutch laegue. He isn't prolific at international level either and he is an intensely dislikable prick. He's just finished serving a ban for 7 games for biting an opponent!!!! This guy will give El Hadj Diouf (another former Liverpool player of course) a run for his money!

What does it say about Suarez that he has ended up at Liverpool?

He had a good World Cup and has a good record at Ajax. You'd think teams would have snapped him up last summer. Was there any other team interested in him?

I can't believe they've forked out £20m+. Darren Bent was only £18m and it makes the £7m we paid for Hernandez look like a steal.
