A treble is a treble and there is no such things as a better form of treble thats unless you are a Manchester United fan who still claims they havw been world champions when they won the ''We played teams nobody has ever heard of cup''. That competition went downhill after the 80s when top sides like Independiente and Sao Paulo and Santos stopped entering it.It now only contains rubbish from Saudi Arabia and the Australian outback that has teams made up of taxi-drivers and bin-men. The fact remains there is no difference between the treble Joe ***an won and the one Ferguson won as its a domestic and European treble and not ''The Treble'' which is the League, the FA Cup and the League Cup which has never been done.
No such thing as a better treble ? So the league FA Cup and CL is not better than say the Charity Shield, League Cup and UEFA Cup ?
I have already pointed out that the Charity Shield and Super Cup do not form parts of a treble. However a Domestic and European Treble is a Domestic and European Treble and Joe ***an in 1984 was the first to achieve it.
Did you really expect it to go any other way??? I think I called this thread stupid about 10 minutes after it started?
I'm not answering that. Here's a question for all Man United fans. Who was the better player. Kenny Dalglish (1970-1990) Or George Best. 1963-1968.
Who was better. Kenny Dalglish 3 European Cups 1978,1981 and 1984. Prince of Parkhead,King of the KOP. Or George Best. 1 European Cup and washed up at 25.
IFFHS says Best: http://www.iffhs.de/?b40f8ca85bd0e0...dc3bfcdc0aec70aeedb8a3f0e03790c443e0f4039040f Best is 11th. You'll find Mr Dalglish at number 46 FIFA also says Best: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_Player_of_the_Century He's number 16. Dalglish is...not in the top 66...
Definitely, I would actually take the hit and sell someone like Meireles for £10-15m and use that to pay off people like Cole, Jovanovic, Poulsen and Degen. A) Because Raul is sadly 28 and he doesn't add anything that our other midfielders don't to the team and B) It would be beneficial in the long run to get rid of these wasters off the wage bill, as I can't see anyone buying them otherwise and paying the amount of wages they're paid here elsewhere. Lets be honest, whatever we want to say about Man Utd's transfer policy under the Glazers, atleast 90% of the team contribute every season towards something. I can only think of Anderson, Bebe, Hargreaves and Wes Brown who haven't been 'value for money' the last couple of years in regards to wages, transfer cost and playing time. I could list probably 20 who haven't been value for money for us in the last 3 years. Jovanovic, Cole, Poulsen, Konchesky, Dossena, Degen, Voronin, Aquilani, Agger, Aurelio, Babel, Jones, Cavalieri, El Zhar, Keane, Plessis, Itandje and I could go on, but I'm sure you get my point. I would hazard a guess that these have cost us about £200m in transfer fees and wages alone over the last 3 years yet they've all contributed the square root of **** all to anything.
