That there is not a thread or comment regarding today's League Cup Final. Does nobody give a damn about this competition unless involved?

I'm just guessing that's what's more interesting is that you can't spell interesting.

Absolutely uninspiring game. Absolutely uninspiring cup. They should leave it to the non Premier teams. I lost interest in 1976 when we got beat off Dennis Tuart, or however you spell it.

Stand out for me was the fact that Man City had Bony and Liverpool had Benteke on the bench - both fit. Says more about the state that football is in than a thousand words

There was a little snippet in the BBC site earlier in the week about fixture overload and one of the solutions was to drop the FA cup which is the oldest knock out competition in football. Get rid of the league cup and bring the European cup back to one for champions only without that wretched league thing.

There are far too many European fixtures which is causing all the problems..They have turned both the "Champions" League and the Europa Cup into joke competitions that people are fast losing interest in by their ridiculous formats..

Me too mate. I was on duty, down the local for both games.

Came home to a slow, slooooow, cooked lamb curry.

    I love lamb me!

I just hope our football history is not allowed to die for the sake of the Euro competitions but the way it is set up the rich clubs need it for income. What irritates me is that the rich clubs play second string players right up until the final then roll out the first team, presumably to get the club's name on a historical trophy.

Would be interesting if they took a survey of all clubs for their opinions about competitions and replays.

Agree there,s overload but there,s no way the champion,s league will go back to champs only.
That,s Where the big 15 or so clubs in Europe make a lot of revenue.
If they do that the top clubs in most countries, your Milans, Chelskis, Real, Barca, Man u, Arsenal, PSG etc will jump ship and form their own league, it,ll be on the cards anyway for them, will leave rest in their wake

I'm not sure the big teams will be leaving the PL anytime soon.

Not with these massive tv rights deals they've all just signed up to.

Love the cup - love both of the cups. My most memorable season is the one where we played City in the league cup - the cup run, the league escape. I bet you'd feel totally differently if you made the final!
