Much needed win, not sure how we got it but we'll take it. Always good to stop the rot. Thank you Bart!
Lot quieter on here after a win, isn't it? A surprising away victory, from my perspective, as I didn't think we'd get all three points. Ben Pringle seems like a shrewd addition, on the basis of his first few performances. Of course the upcoming games against Bolton and Forest are going to test this side's mettle, and hopefully we'll have a few players coming back from injury. Still, congratulations Mick and the team, such is the nature of football, we've slashed the deficit from sixth place and, if we can build on this result, we should be able to get back into the top six. Whether we can stay there, is a completely different question.
Very welcome result. Can't comment much more than that, only saw the result. Do we know if we can extend Pringles loan period?
Nuggets it's like a bloody library on here at times if we win. Seriously, it's unreal. If we lose don't you worry it'll get post after post, if we win, very much an indifferent feel. Was at the game, thoughts - Many probably were uninspired by the lineup. Foley @ Cm instead of Bru - well he did what was asked of him well unlike Bru who well leaves gaps galore. Both Bru and Niles were bloody awful after coming on. Crap. Niles in particular had one chance to run the ball and just looked so lapsidasical. Shame. Pringle certainly adds something, Sears lively. As for the game, well, we were us. Plenty av it footy, very direct. Rode our luck at times vs quite a good passing Huddersfield side but that's the way it goes. They wasted what looked an absolute certain goal ( need to see again on tv ) late on. We know what to expect though don't we !!??! By now, we know what's likely to come. How true this is I don't know - but a lad told me before the game we've NEVER WON a SINGLE GAME when Skuse hasn't played. I dont know if true but if so thank heavens that has come to an end. 13 games to go, have I written off the season completely? Have I F***. Derby Wendy and Brum all lost, plenty of turns to go. Forest H next, they're hardly pulling up trees no pun intended so lets try and get three from that and push on. COYB.
Typical mick win, **** pitch, backs against the wall, but spirit got us over the line. Flowing football would have more than likely got us diddly squat today. Let's move on to the next one. COYB
Oh lets be clear the way we play is damn ugly / we're capable of playing better footy than we do, but we did win. Hudd's played pretty little footy and got zero points. We're going to need to up it vs Forest though.
Lost interest tbh, while that ****er Mcarfy is manager I can't see that changing. Watched Madrid Derby yesterday instead of listening to Ipswich, that's how ****ing despondent I have got with the current situation at Ipswich.
Please yourself mate. You sure as hell don't lose interest when we lose, it's rant upon rant. Last three games when we lost prior to Huddersfield you sure as hell had interest. I went and didn't like how we played but we won the game, and have an outside chance of the play offs. End of the day, whether you or others like this Mick is the gafa and results wise with resources I think he's doing a good job. How we're playing the game is a different kettle of fish - bloody horrible - I cannot dispute that as it is. Onto the next one however. COYB.
I came to "the library" to offer my well done in post #20,so I don't ignore it when we get good results.I have elsewhere made my general displeasure with the whole situation known and will continue to do so whilst we remain so negative.
Who do you think you are to judge what the circumstances should be when people should post? If you want a livelier board the last thing we need is holier-than-thou twats sneering at when and what people are posting on the occasions that they do.
I guess it's the nature of keyboard warriors, a defeat and more likely to tap away as opposed to win. You're more likely to leave a negative review than a positive if you stay in a hotel.
I feel it's a valid observation to make, Jonah. It's certainly not supposed to come across as 'sneering' and I certainly do not judge posters what they post, and when they do it, because everyone is entitled to their opinion. I guess it's more indicative of society, and football forums as a whole, that 'bad news' sells, and so places like these are naturally going to be busier when it's time to criticise.
Thought I better had it's a good community this with a fun group of people. Quite small knit, pretty darn good really.
It is more likely that people will post after a defeat due to the fact that they feel like venting frustrations (justified or otherwise)....after a win there is less need or desire to pick at the bones of the game/manager/owner/cost/pie fillings/the T'wot sat behind that thinks he's Alan Hanson....and other such stuff.
I think you're right about posts being more numerous when we lose weighty, it's frustration and disappointment etc so understandable Yesterday's EADT carried an article with MM saying he will have to ask ME for some funds in the Summer because the present policy has got us as far as it can, maybe some progress after all?
I think that is the EADT reaching for a story tbh ...all MM said was 'we will have to see' I believe.
