Perhaps he should have said OPINION Backing it up of course with some kind of meaningful stuff. Last night from memory was sat near a group of 5 Eastern Europeans, two middle aged ladies , a kid and dad, some indie kids , some more kids and dads, some flaskers, a group of beery blokes. I doubt any of these will be posting on here let alone reading it. It's a broader church than some people think.
I never understand that, if someone gives me abuse on here, I either respond or ignore it. It's not like they're going to hunt me down. Also I don't know anyone from this board, but I post because I have an opinion on my team. I like the general debates, some are good, even if they break down into some childish argument. I tend to stop reading a thread when it gets like that as it's boring, just click on the unwatch bit near the top. If I decide to go have a look at it again, I might post something if the argument has finished, or maybe even point something out. There really is nothing to be scared of on any forum!
I know plenty of people who read this forum for the latest ticket news or transfer information. They don't however have any interest in other peoples opinions on football nor do they feel the need to share their opinions with others, its just simply something that doesn't interest them.
I suppose you could call me a lurker/reader. I do post very occasionally but prefer to have a read through. It's not because i fear abuse or anything like that ( I was in the armed services for 24 years so its not as if i haven't taken banter or given it in the past!) I just enjoy reading all the news, gossip and banter! UTT!!
Well I feel rather guilty about not posting much. If no-one posted, it wouldn't be much fun round here: however much we quiet ones express our appreciation of the regular contributors with a sly "Like". On many issues, regrettably, I can see both sides and am loathe to express a strong opinion 'cos I don't have one. Let's face it, reasonable "sitting on the fence" opinions wouldn't make much of a thread, would they? Also, perhaps it's my advancing years and associated wavering attention or poor eye sight but my match analysis isn't great. I'm usually half way through the first half before I have worked out who's on the pitch, let alone whether we're lined up 3-5-2. Bad, isn't it? Strangely, I tend to do OK spotting decent players and predicted at the beginning of the year that Hernandez would score at least 15 goals including at least one hattrick. Of course, I didn't post that, which I now regret. In the interests of balance, some time ago, I was just as adamant that Ben Arfa was a genius and Bruce would get the best out of him... Anyway, emboldened by this thread which touchingly, I infer, seeks the views of the reticent, I would like to say that Nick Powell is a class player and Bruce will get the best out of him when he becomes a permanent addition to the team. He will regularly feature in the Not606 MOM threads next season. There. I have done it. Don't let me down, Nick: this has been hard for me.
Basically this.Read the board for news and like the threads with news and updates about what is happening in the area but have to say i don't really care about any of your opinions on football or local councils for that matter.Perhaps it would be different if i knew any of you in real life but as most threads appear to devolve into the same bout of old men arguing about nothing in particular i stay clear.
I am a bit of a lazy lurker really. I can’t be arsed to log on mainly because I never save my passwords and user ids on my phone or PC. I have made my user id and password too long and it is too much of an effort to type it in with my fat fingers so I just tend to browse as a guest. This makes most of OLM’s threads even more random because I have to try and guess what the image looks like because I haven’t logged on. I mainly use the site for information, some of the OT threads are useful especially the Sky rip off thread, I got myself an Amazon Firestick and managed to plumb it in with Kodi myself, so I was able to watch the away matches on it at Fulham and Arsenal on Firstrowsports.eu on Sports Devil. I was however disappointed not to find the match stream from Patty on the Brigadoon sports channel. I should have put this on the thread at the time. The other big reason for not posting much is that I can never decide which emoticon to use, there are too many to choose from.
