Ricky Everitt reporting that Charlton will offer £150 season tickets to adults in the Covered End next season That works out at a very reasonable £6.25 per home game.... to watch class like Bury and Rochdale on their league visits to the Valley. Be honest - are you tempted ?
i've voted yes, as that's throw away money. i can stomach losing that much on the tripe we see. would not go near the ground if prices stay in the same bracket. at £150, that sort of money would cover the lighting, police and toilets and not let roland profit too much.
Rick Everitt, former Head of Managing Terminal Decline at CAFC, is normally well briefed on such ticketing matters. £6.25 per game - even the pie and a pint will be more expensive
Sort of proves the point [again] that Meire doesn't grasp the problem - it isn't one of price - it is one of morals. Going away will be much more fun next season and there will be a few new stadiums to be chalked off. I reckon I have done 60 of the 92 now watching Charlton - with Meire in charge there is every chance I can get into the 80s by doing the League Two grounds in 17/18
Nope - the only chance I'll renew is if I see a turnaround in personnel like our promotion season. And by that I don't mean network crap.
I was thinking to myself at £150 I would purchase where I currently sit. Only because like SIG mentioned, for me that's walking around money. I, on most occasions, have more than that with me. Even if I went to three/four games, which would probably only be the big ones that I have friends that support other clubs, i.e. Sheffield United, Millwall, Gillingham, would I actually be bothered about going to see. I would still be, over the course of the next season taking about three or four holidays so will miss about 10 of them.
The Belgians are working on this encouraging the fans who are wavering to say f*** it and get one as it is cheap. Some people have no principles. If we can get only 5000 renewing it will be a moral victory for the fans, then the f****** might start listening to us.
We'll still have s*** away support Royston, we always have. Once we start struggling next season people are going to say b******* to the likes of Shrewsbury and Chesterfield. Having said that I have started at looking who can go up from League 2 and I'm very keen for Accrington and Mansfield to get promoted as I have not seen Charlton at these places.
Not sure what your wage bill is like, but in League 1 you can only spend 60% of your turnover on it - do your owners know this?
I'll be getting one without doubt. Doubt the clowns know of that TC but more than half our squad will leave in the summer so won't be an issue
For £150 I'd be going, simply because as I said to my dad the other day, I won't know what to do with myself on a Saturday if we were at home and I wasn't going. Also it would allow me to be at the games and protest still, as has been said, yes cheap tickets are nice but it's not the problem. Problem is the owner and as long as CARD pull their finger out and don't get won over by cheap tickets I'd be game.
Fanny will still be there in her black and white scarf, and Syd Cheesewright of course, scrambling on the terraces looking for his missing teeth.....
