I'm definitely off, the Cup games have had mostly great atmospheres this season and after seeing us beat Leicester and Swansea in the other cup plus Brighton in this one a third Prem scalp is up for grabs, wouldn't miss it for anything
The worst possible result for both teams - but what a performance and result!! It was epitomised for me by Meyler who ran himself into the ground for the cause. He wasn't the most skilful on display - but his guts and determination were reminiscent of Ian Ashbee. Goodness alone knows when they'll be able to fit the replay in - can't we just toss a coin?!!
Indeed, hopefully a seething cauldron of passion and comradery will await the great norf sarf divide..but don't hold your breath. Patty and chips with scraps anyone ? UTT
Under the cosh for almost all of the game and ive got to say its the best defensive display I have seen from a City side for a very long time, when a defence is been attacked constantly like city's today then to hold out was magnificent because as a defender when you kick the ball out and think here they come again then to hold them like we did was brilliant, yes they missed some chances but considering the amount of the game they had then want a team effort that was. Loved it at the end when jak went across to our fans and see him pick up his daughter in the crowd I think many of us thought he was a very poor keeper but how much as he improved, MOM
Correct. The first time that we kept Arsenal scoreless away in the FA Cup was in 1908. We won the replay 4-1. NB. Arsenal played as Woolwich Arsenal.
The best entertainment I've had this season was watching him in the Swansea and Leicester games, he's got through these two matches and today so kudos to the lad, he deserves a bit of praise and the spotlight
People may say that Alex Bruce and David Meyler aren't Premier League class but they kept a Premier League class team at bay today, and gave their absolute all for the cause. They may not be the most talented, but what they may lack in skill is more than made up for in application, hard work and determination. Meyler and Bruce will never get plaudits but today they deserve them all. I also feel today should be renamed after the Saint Jakupovic.
Definitely the best defensive performance from us in many a year and all the lads deserve every plaudit we have been giving them. They were immense.
There really ought to be a campaign for the Oxford English Dictionary to alter the definition of the word humble, it should just read Eldin Jakapovic. Well done big man, you were a hero to many today, me included.
We didn't park a bus........ we parked on oil tanker with Jakupovic at the controls! I cannot remember a game where we spent so many minutes with all 11 players in our own half. It was the first match I have seen City play this season. We had luck but that is a requirement in the FA Cup. Looking forward to the replay which should be televised here in Aus. Ps. My Arsenal mad neighbour down our road will be distraught.
My only moan about the Arsenal game is how come over twice as many City fans went to Arsenal then went to Blackburn.
