Frustrating but credit to Hull. To come to the Emirates are stop Arsenal scoring is no easy feat. A well deserved replay.
All in all, that's basically another home game we have failed to score in, 3 out of our last 4 home games, the bottle seems to be on, as usual.
very unlucky today i thought. their keeper had an absolute blinder, although some of our finishing could have been better. Actually thought we played better without Giroud and Alexis on the pitch, as responsibility was being shared around by those front 4. Especially liked the rotation around who was up top, left, right and central.
For a side that is supposedly competing for the title, failing to score against a second string Championship side is humiliating. We may as well have got knocked out, a replay is not what we need in the middle of games against Barcelona, United, Swansea and Spurs. Absolute ****..
The keeper made two great saves, but having said that, it was very typical Arsenal, so much possession, tippy tappy football, in and around their box, and nothing, how many times did we bomb forward and keep Hull pegged in their own half for nothing to happen. The two best moments we had was when we didnt play that silly useless Arsenal wanna be Barca football which we don't know how to do, and shot from outside the box. We have seen so many games like this at the Emirates from Arsenal that it's hard to just keep saying oh we were unlucky and their keeper made some great saves, don't think we were unlucky at all, when you have that much possession as we did, and don't beat a championship side, then you need to look at yourselves and ask questions.
Barca are currently drawing 1-1 against the mighty Las Palmas, yeah we're really ****ting ourselves......
Played well in patches, agreed the subs didn't have an impact, bringing Welbs off slowed things down. No excuses but two stone wall penalties not given to us and their keeper had a great game. Do we need and want a replay, probably not, but as defending cup holder's........
Meyler clearly got the ball for the second, and Aluko was wrongly called offside when he put the ball in the net. Koscielny should 100% have been sent off as well. Don't act as though you didn't win because of the ref. We were well organised despite 10 changes and you weren't good enough to break us down.
Did their keeper really have a great game? Apart from Campbell's free-kick, every shot was very central to the goalkeeper and they were saves that goalkeepers should be making. It is worrying that we have one of the highest shots per game, yet the lowest conversion rate. That to me says that our finishing is not good enough. Hull defended very resolutely but if we need to bring on Sanchez and Giroud to try and beat them - which we still couldn't do - then we have far bigger problems to worry about.
