With Carzorla moving and Mata declared unavailable, who do you think Arsene will turn his attention to to replace Cesc if he goes? It's getting very close to the start of the season, and is worrying me how little action there has been. I wanted to reserve judgement until the end of July, but that is fast approaching and I'm now concerned. What targets are left? What positions need filling? And how happy are you with the transfer progress thus far?
At the moment, it is a big IF regarding Cesc going. Barca can't afford him. Also it looks like Nasri may well be staying. We have added Gervinho and Jenkinson, both of which look pretty good and are good signings. Arsene is clearly looking for centre backs, but quite rightly won't pay over the odds for average players. £20M for a 28 year old Jags? No thanks. I am certain that we will be signing a decent centre back and possibly a left back (Enrique). I'd be more than happy then. I think Verm and Kos are decent 1st choice centre backs and Djourou and A.N.Other would be fine. Plenty of time left Bonstar, don't get despondent yet. Who have Man Citeh, Chelsea and the spuds signed?
I still think Valencia would sell Mata but for no less than £20 million. (and would Wenger ever pay that much for a player?) Although we have more than enough attacking players the guy is sheer class and would undoubtedly improve our team. I still think we need a left back and a centreback. I would go with Subotic & Cisssoko. -----------------Sczezney----------------- Sagna---Subotic-----Vermaelen--Cissoko -----------Song---------Wilshere---------- ------------------Nasri-------------------- Walcott--------VanPersie-----------Mata *Gervinho would fight it out with Walcott and RVP for a starting place.
Stick with Walcott and Nasri because their pace cannot be matched by many players in the world. Walcott is under-used by Wenger, who has forgotten the key reason why his team became the invincibles - that being because the squad had more speed than any others in the premiership
Subotic won't leave Borussia to be honest. They're a club still on the up. Him or Hummels would be fantastic but we'd have to campaign for the player really.
at the start of summer Wenger stated he would be bringing in player(s) with Premier League experience. that hasn't happened one bit so far. what positions do you feel still need to be filled?
Great! Just been for a job around the park to try and improve my pace. Going to watch topgear now because of the speed on show
Come on Arsenal fans do you really expect Arsene to spend over 50m Euro's to buy out Juan Mata contract. If you do you must be living in a tottally different world to any other Arsenal fans. Has Arsene ever spent over £20 m on a single player, so don't expect him to start now.
I expect a few last minute rush job signings. We really need a central midfielder if fabregas leaves, which means wenger will likely spend it all on some french division 3 striker.
I'm genuinely getting worried now. If no-one arrives in the next few days they won't get ANY game time with the rest of the team before the League starts. Mata & Carzorla are gone, Samba is apparently now gona cost 15m, and there's been very very few rumours of anyone else, except Joel Campbell. Wenger promised players with Premiership experience who I expected to slot straight in and do a job. This is looking increasingly unlikely. At this point, I can honestly see Arsenal struggling for 4th rather than competing for the title. With an unhappy Fabregas & Nasri still in the side.
