I would have left Gaga well alone as anyone can take her or leave her but this thing would of taken some planning as I hope you can understand so along the way their has been a scheme between her and Intel ... Rehearsals and visual mock ups, the songs and production of would of taken some planning The simple question remains To who are they trying to appeal to? It's sold as a tribute and Bowie may well of been an influence on her ... He was on me and many members of this board I am guessing? But none of us have used a historical date to promote ourselves. The sad thing is that the outrage , my outrage for example would of been also calculated in their exposure They don't care if it ruffles a few feathers to Bowie fans as they have gotten the desired impact . To be totally fair to Gaga I expect someone would of tried it hence my reply to Dunbar Is this creative use of marketing of course it is and money invested will return 1000 fold. Bowie fans aren't mugs his music lives on and as SB said in a way he himself had some awful projects Gaga I hope in balance loses over this but she won't care as she was born into the crass NY art scene Her development mimics Madonnas and having seen her on her first attempt to break into the UK in Hastings when I was 19 I can fully understand the lengths these monsters go to. As she still hasn't given up! If we were to align Gaga's song writing skills when she worked for Sony to Bowies would there be a balance? Not for me It's a mad world going forward if Gaga is considered the new artist of modern times. Her machine is developed by corporates is to firmly establish her as a product and she knows that IMO Can you imagine Gaga turning into recluse as Bowie did ? Nope it's all about exposure and deception for fortune and fame ... She has the fortune a lot more than Bowie so now it's all about the fame and maintaining that Our TF did exactly the same when one of his planes crashed. He felt it necessary to go on QPR player in a three part interview to show his sorrow. Tragic thing happened and yet in the sadness time for a marketing opportunity via a football club Apologies if I have upset anyone but this sort of thing fuels my ranting bollocks
I have a trained voice and I'm telling you that she has a good voice. She always seems to sing live and in a recent duet with Tony Bennett she sounded very good.
I've always thought that Bowie's voice was pretty good. He could sing many different styles, although like most pop stars, he had his moments of sounding crap. I've never been a jazz fan, so singers like Newly and Bennett never appealed to me. They undoubtedly had tremendous musicality though.
