I remember that 6-1 away at Ipswich.
I was on holiday with the family, and it was before the days of mobile phones and modern technology.
Literally had nightmares the night before, kept waking up... Looked at the paper in the morning, and we had lost 6-1... Coincidence!?!?
Yep, I remember looking on teletext and it was 1-1 at half time if I remember correctly.
Should have seen my face (and heard the expletives) when I looked again at full time.
... was in a holiday cottage in Cornwall as I recall ... supposedly haunted ... but no nightmares ... didn't we go on to get promoted under bum-chin & basset that season?
Yep, weird season that was.
Wonder when the last side to have lost by a 5 goal margin and still be promoted was.
Our biggest loss when we got promoted was 4-1 vs Brighton - which was the main reason we bought Ulloa IMHO.
Closest I can find was West Ham losing 5-1 when they got promoted in 2011-12.
