So let me guess Lewis was 90% while the car was 10%? At this race...

That car is up there with The Red Bull and the Hamilton fans won't admit he has failed to use it all the time this season.

Oh it was a great race for Lewis and I'll admit that, but to say it was just all him is absolute ****e since that thing was the class of the field in the cold.

I think Lewis put in a stormer precisely because that imbecile Eddie Jordan was sniffing around trying to diss McLaren all weekend. "What has happened to McLaren?", "They used to be good", blah blah blah blah blah.

Plus all the Hamilton fans that were criticising McLaren because their current squeeze wasn't living up to their expectations. "Oooh McLaren are a team on the wane", blah blah yawn. It turns out that, hey, McLaren aren't that bad after all. Just goes to show you how little most people know about anything, but still choose to sit in judgement of all the teams and all the drivers.

Vettel is extraordinarily poor once he's put under pressure. He has buckled nearly every time someone has put him under the slightest pressure. Amazing how similar his mistakes were at the Nurburgring and in Montreal. Pushing too hard and gets off line. As I have said before. Ordinary.

You talk absolute ****e Basil. His mistake was because he was pushing, not because he is under pressure just like Alonso did on turn 2.

Seems you need to look back at Silverstone when webber put him under pressure, at Monaco when Alonso put him under pressure, at Spain and Australia when Lewis put him under real pressure.

Most of you seem the forget the amount of pressure seb had been put on last year.

Ordinary? A flipping 7 times world champion did the same thing.

Can I suggest that people here don't make personalised attacks on people expressing a different view? This is a forum and we should all expect to see things we disagree with. Basil has every right to express his view, regardless of what others might think.

We saw a superb race today and it's a shame it seems to have made some people express themselves as if they are angry. Let's cool it eh? We all like F1 don't we?

Cheers cosi. To be honest I will never complain about personal attacks, and I agree it was a superb race.

I will repeat my contention that I have held for a good while now, and that is I think that at least half grid would be capable of doing the same job as Vettel has if they had the good fortune of being in a Red Bull. The last few races have only convinced me of this further. As soon as the Red Bull is no longer far and away the fastest car on the grid Vettel looks ordinary.

Nobody on the television talks about this, but it does not mean to say that it doesn't exist, but Ferrari now have a flexible front wing (which, to me, looks like it flexes even more that the Red Bull's). Vettel's dominance is over. In a straight fight Alonso will eat Vettel for breakfast, and wash him down with a glass of I'm A Better Driver Juice. Fah-ah-ah-ah-act!

No wonder that as soon as Red Bull saw that Ferrari had a flexible front wing they start using team orders, especially seeing as Alonso was winning the race.

All the top drivers are about the same. Nobody stands out head and shoulders above the others. That includes Vettel, and the rest of the season will prove exactly that.

Yeah and anybody could of won today with Alonso's car, but funny enough Alonso was asleep when Lewis jogged past him for the lead. O-o-o verated!

Hamilton was very good today, but the straight line speed of the McLaren was just phenomenal!Red Bull may well have a challenger, if Button can finish the next race!

I think it's safe to say Hamilton or Button will win in Belgium. That car's straight line speed is phenomenal. Maybe Mercedes will have a chance, and renault.

Maybe Alonso was asleep, or maybe Alonso's tyres weren't up to temperature and Hamilton's were. Who can tell?

Alonso had just left the pits so his tyres would've been cold. You could see throughout his outlap that he barely had any grip. Hamilton and Alonso were wheel to wheel at turn 2 but Hamilton had heat in his tyres which allowed him to have a higher cornering speed, and therefore a relatively simple overtake.

Rarely see Alonso, Hamilton and simple overtake in the same sentence ;)

Yeah you can tell that by the way that other ex World Champion Jenson Button is beating Hamilton hands down in it.

    What a load of bull****.

There is no denying that he should have more points though.

Particularly Canada, where most people think he would of been on for at least a top 3 finish and you could even consider Monaco as points lost (the major factor was the poor team decision in quali though)

The gap would still be in the 50-60's though....but every little counts.

Oh not disputed, neither Mclaren driver has been on their top form throughout and the team [as usual] seem to have made some bizarre calls in qualifying and races.

However, to pretend that either the Mclaren or the Ferrari has been a match for the Red Bull in every race [or even any races apart from Germany & Silverstone respectively] is just nonsense.

Yeah, I agree. Red Bull have had the benefit of the no1 car for the most part up till now. Hungary again will play to their strengths, the question remains how big that advantage will be...
