Just read Pardew was happy to slap Enrique's wrists over the Tweeting incident, but Ashley has stepped in to enforce a 2 week wage fine of £100,000.

Most fans reckon Enrique has scored a bit of an own goal here and has won few friends for his outburst.
However, this would have presented Ashley with a rare chance to get fans on his side. How often is he presented with a golden opportunity where fans are actually on his side?
The £100,000 he was set to pay in wages anyway could have been donated to a local charity (say a hospice) or youth football in the area ( say Wallsend Boys Club) to show the fans that some good could come out of something which was disrespectful to both the club and fans?

However, it will pay for a new signinng on a 5 year deal at £384 a week! So maybe it will stay in the club.....

Think a local hospice or youth developement would be the best bet.

I'd take that like! Then I could make more money on the side by selling naked photos of the players to the press...

I have every sympathy with Jose. He has kept quiet for weeks, while Pardew has been telling all the world what a fabulous contract had been put in front of him, but he wouldn't sign it.

How would any of us feel if your employers were telling lies about you, and you were expected just to take it? I bet you would waant to put the record straight, which he now has, informing us that his fabulous new deal was basically the same as his existing one. Did Pardew tell us that? Did he buggery!!

Carroll has also tweeted to say that he was forced out, by Ashley, who wanted to take the money on offer from the bindippers. However, if we were to believe Pardew, it was Carroll who wanted away (which Carroll denies).

Why on earth should we simply accept everything that Pardew/Llambias tell us? They admitted, to the Keegan Tribunal, that they had routinely lied to the fans about the role of Denis Wise, and other matters. Also, if you look back at the various things that Pardew has said about Carroll, Nolan and Barton, and then compare this with the club's subsequent actions, it simply doesn't add up.

The only way we are going to have a clue about what is really going on at our club, is through the players' tweets, which is why Ashley is so determined to stamp this out. If he can silence the players, the only voice we hear is that of his mouthpiece, Pardew, and it seems that most of the fans are so desperate for some good news, that we are willing to believe what we are being told, even though events do not back it up.

Nothing has happened on this US tour that makes me think that we are going to do anything other than struggle this season. The team spirit that served us so well, over the past two seasons, has been all but destroyed, and we are putting all our hopes in a group of french players, who may need a seaon to acclimatise to the EPL, and a striker who Pardew admiited he didn't risk starting on the astroturf, in Orlando, for fear that he would injure his dodgy knee!

"Ah" I hear you say "there is still several weeks before the transfer deadline shuts". True, but all of the good business is being done now. One by one, all of our targets are going elsewhere, not to NUFC. Why is that? Perhaps because the word is out that the powers that be at NUFC are not the best people to work for. Ashley may be able to prevent the players from tweeting, but he can't stop them talking with each other.

Sorry for being so negative, but I'm seriously worried about next season. The course that Ashley is taking NUFC down is only "good business" if we don't get relegated again!

Enrique was only telling the truth about the aim of our owner and management. We are not going to be challenging for anything this coming season except to stay in the Premiership, We will have the weakest strikeforce in the Premiership unless he has the bottle to go and spend some cash on a decent striker to support Ba up front.
Pardew is a good talker in trying to placate the current situation but he has to do what the owner says. Surely if Ashley wants to sell the club ( I`m assuming he still wants to } he should be making it as attractive as possible on the field as he`s done on the finance side. AND TALK TO THE FANS not let Llambarse speak as he just digs deeper holes for himself,

How would you suggest that he vent his frustration? At least we now know why Enrique wants to leave, and it's not that he is a greedy t**t. It's because promises have not been kept, and he has only been offered what he was already on, when Pardew was suggesting that it was a very much improved offer.

We're all crying out for news, but we get very little from the club, and that we do get we can't be sure whether it's true or false. I feel a little sorry for Pardew, as he clearly has very little say in what goes on, but then has to go in front of the media, and try to put a positive spin on it. On the other hand, I presume he is being well paid for his troubles!

It is my understanding that all player fines are put into a an pot which is distributed to a selection of charities. It is standard within football so that it can't be argued by the players that the club dishes out fines for the financial gain of the club.
