Think our only hope is to try a 5-5-3 formation & we might just be able to hold our own.

Meltdown is achievable in one game? Loads of people are experts in hindsight. Jimmy is still learning and there will be setbacks along the way, but if we want to have a long term plan we are going to have to get over some terrible performances without calling for his head

I think we learnt that our manager didn't have him in it to adapt to their formation and we were left exposed.

We are qpr !!!! Not some conference team we shouldn't be managed by someone still learning !!! What kind of statement is that , ? Seriously ?

It's a statement that says we are QPR we are trying to get back to the days where we were taking on players and managers learning their trade and improve on them rather than spunk millions on players and managers a la Bosingwa and Arry!

Learning to get to the top I would hope, we are not, never have been and I doubt ever will be everyone's crowning ambition of a club to join if they want to play/manage the best in the world, however if we can be a club that people can see will develop them and a good club to be at and compete at a high level like in Gerry Francis's reign that is surely a good thing.

I think it's more a case that until we get rid of the remaining deadwood we are stuck with a bloated squad of mostly mediocre players. 4-4-2 can work even against a three if you have at least one dominating, athletic midfielder. Someone like Diakite with a brain. It also relies on relatively fast, attacking full-backs. We have a geriatric and Perch, who is about as useful as a perch. We also have two exceptionally lazy wingers. No matter what system you play, if the squad has such glaring gaps it will get found out.

The signings Hasselbaink has made look promising. They are traditionally our type of signing. Washington and Khayati look like prospects and along with Smithies, Hall, Luongo, Faurlin, and Polter will be the spine of a half-decent side next season.

His best days probably are over given he's 29 but no reason he can't contribute fairly frequently. He's never relied on pace.

No reason why Faurlin can't return to the player he was and he was some player
I love him all we can do is hope but the record currently is looking doubtful if he can't string a few games together… if he does then we can only get better
I would make him club captain

In answer to the OP, plenty, hopefully Ted.
I would imagine JFH learned a lot more from that defeat than he did from the win the week before.

well its a bit like when we used to play a sweeper and then all of a sudden we seemed to be short in other departments
what jfk should have doe was lined up 4 5 1 but changed the whole system if it was still 0-0 because if it was 1-0 to qpr he should have just kept his team and sat the game out and got three points i hope he dosnt line up a 4-2-4 ever again as it just dosnt work he better not make that mistake again and i think les needs shooting for allowing him to do so

I don't know what "we" learnt but, this is what "I" learnt.

    1. Smithies is simply not good enough. He should have stopped at least one of the 3 goals he let in. Give Joe Lumley a go and lets see if he's good enough.

    2. Perch and Konchesky must be the worst full back combination we have had in many a long year.

    3. Hall and Onouha don't like playing against pacey strikers.

    4. If you play with a midfield with no tacklers, you get overrun.

    5. Jamie Mackie is way past his best. 4 years ago, he was a trier who ran around like a headless chicken. Now, he does the same but he has lost his pace.

    6. Polter is an extremely limited player but give him his dues, he tries.

    7. Was Luongo even on the pitch? Not sure what people see in him.

    8. Our January transfer activity has diluted the quality of player in our squad. I am a bit worried as to where we will go from here for the rest of the season considering the manner of the defeat.
