He's been made to look like a monumental fool (by himself). I'm sure he still hovers and reads the threads in the hope that he will be proven "right" at some point.
I had no problem with UIR defending Van Gaal. But when he started wumming fellow United supporters and then making threads up like this to bash anyone who had a different opinion, that's when I lost all patience with him for good. He has me on ignore btw, has done for 2 months... which just happens to coincide with our plummet down the league.
It doesn't tell you, but he totally blanks my posts and more importantly has made comments to other posters responding to me to suggest he didn't know that I'd posted in the first place. I'm pretty sure of it.
His problem was his delivery. Everyone's entitled to an opinion. He got his across by arrogantly insisting that he was unquestionably correct whilst completely dismissing any view that wasn't 100% in line with his and fabricating/embellishing things that other people had supposedly said to "prove" they were wrong.
The thread was relevant at the time, Stan. You can't look at today and suggest the author looks like a fool. Hell, we even topped the league in November. Personally, I think as an organization, we shot ourselves in the foot with extreme negativity coming from all angles. Ex-players, media, everyone had a fkin opinion. I look at other horrible teams - City, Liverpool, Chelsea etc, I have yet to see the same attack from within their own circle. That was not good for the players, I don't think. But regardless, it's tough luck for the manager. As for UiR, I believe he mentioned on the board that he just had a new baby which would take more than enough of his brain cells. lol. Live happens!
It wasn't this thread that made him look foolish. It was his insistence that he was 100% right and anyone who disagreed wasn't a proper fan etc even when his only fall back, ie the results, started to go tits up. He also made a fool of himself by attempting to mock anyone who questioned whether the results were papering over some very obvious cracks in the team and management. Basically he was in over his head from the start.
If United lose to Bournemouth this will be the club's lowest points total in the Premier League era. I couldnt think of a more damning indictment of the bollockbrain stupidity of this thread. A fitting end
http://www.not606.com/threads/the-lvg-out-thread.317875/ There you go fella. You're 41 pages too late and you're certainly not the first, but you might want to put your name down anyway.
Tbf I was just as smug back then. The only thing he got right in that post was the 2nd sentence of that first paragraph.
