They do indeed. I was walking Peddars Way with my daughter, we took a detour to 'Hughton' Hall. The deer were so still, we were convinced they weren't real. Absolutely wonderful. Thoroughly recommended to Canary callers (many of whom contributed to this thread?) - gets things in perspective, and a major factor in helping to reduce blood pressure.
I don't know if you did the tour inside? Awesome oak paneling, tapestries, etc Plus the owner (Lord / Earl...) had a collection of miniature toy soldiers when I was there, all set out in battle formation. Plus a decent tea room in the old stable block Whatever turns you on, I guess. Chatsworth is infinitely better - and far more expensive to have a gander at. Edit: cracking photo Gandy
Chatsworth is great (less favourable for spelling puns), have been a few times. Have done Houghton many times, the old cobbled stable block is wonderful, and of course, it's in our own fair county, so easily accessible.
As is moated Oxburgh Hall, yet despite having endured a life in Swaffham for almost 2 years, I never went to visit - and still haven't
I got stuck in the priest hole (and, no, I'm not doing that joke, my old Irish mum would turn in her grave) Not recommended if you're 6'3"
I dunno - until the WH substitutions, we were cruising - a vastly improved performance compared to the last 6 weeks and although against the ropes, we kept going and could have nicked it at the end Personally, I expected nothing from that game, so see a lot of positives.
Yes, we were playing quite well and were certainly the better team. Moses was just able to run straight through our pathetic defence (RM I believe) and created havoc!!!! Yes, Bassong just couldn't get quite enough on it to force it over the line. Let's hope with a free week next Saturday, AN and his coaching staff get the defence to start defending - the space for Payet to get his cross in for the equaliser was atrocious!!!
Not sure if here is the best place for this, but not worth a thread of it's own. Another view of Saturday - and the next 12 games from MFW. http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...basics-is-now-the-only-way-forward-for-alex/?
when did we get relegated? have I missed the last 12 games? Oh no I haven't I've visited the pessimists anonymous site. I think i'll stay in the "deluded camp" or "head in the sand camp" or and believe that anything is possible. Good luck- I'll return at the end of the season, whatever happens, but currently the misery on here is intolerable.
Or you could share your reasons for believing all is okay on HMS Canary and how much plain sailing we have ahead of us?
The current mood of despondency (rather than misery, imho) is as a direct result of one pesky draw - and six losses, several of them spankings, out of the last seven (7) matches!? 'Believe' by all means, but personally, I'd be glad if you'd care to explain where this optimism stems from - based on the stats I quoted above?
I don't think it is all ok or plain sailing at all. But I really don't see the point of saying time and time and time and time and time and time and time again- it was poor defending, there were basic errors, the team requires more strengthening- all of it is fecking obvious and adds nothing to any debate. We can discuss whether the board could have done more, whether the players will bed in, and so on. My own view is that there is a need for a better version of Tettey, and that greater consistency in team selection, I have my doubts over AN, but they were there from day 1- all he did was to get a team playing together in the championship, when they were underperforming- so I guess there are parallels with the current situation. I remain confident, every game I go to I believe Norwich can win, even if the probability is low- It's simply better that way
The thing is, we all want the best for the team and want to win as many games as possible. We were in a winning position on Saturday and not threatened (until Moses came on) and we threw it away by naïve tactics and schoolboy league defending. The misery on here is nothing compared to the misery felt by 24000 odd fans inside the ground on Saturday who could see the calamity unravelling before their eyes and almost predicted the inevitable outcome. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of positives from Saturday - Ruddy coming back gave us a more secure feel, Redmond had one of his better games, Jerome worked his ass off and ran the channels well and we competed well against a very good West Ham side (did anyone else think they were the dirtiest side at CR this season - loads of niggly and professional fouls). I'd have taken a draw at the start of the game and that's what we got, but it could have, should have, been so much more.
