All people with blue eyes are related. The first mutated gene causing blue eyes occurred about 7 thousand years ago and everyone with blue eyes today can be traced back to that first mutated gene.

If Katherine Howard had blue eyes then I might be entitled to a piece of the Royal action too. Arise Sir Ranger of Ladbroke Grove, 1st Earl of Loftus - sounds good to me.
 
Say we call a generation 25 years. The number of ancestors you have doubles each 25 years you go back in time. Go back 1000 years that's 2^40 or about a trillion people you are related too not that there have ever been that many people on earth, we are all inbred.
