TBH I think top 4 is almost certainly blown now and against the bottom team I don't see why we can't give Ward a punt
If you don't beat this lot then you really have got problems. They're uber gash You should be able to smash them wearing slippers ffs.
Harsh. Rest assured, that if you don't beat them, there'll be some serious laughing coming from the Tobes account (and all my others - barring the astro one )
Jurgen Klopp said he saw promising signs from Christian Benteke despite his striker now reaching 12 games without a goal - as he confirmed Daniel Sturridge had come through his comeback unscathed. Belgian striker Benteke missed Liverpool’s best chances against West Ham in Tuesday’s FA Cup replay, ultimately leading to a heartbreaking last minute exit for the Reds. But his manager believes there were indications that he is in good form despite facing “not the easiest period of his career” as he prepares to face his former club in Aston Villa on Sunday. On Sturridge Klopp said he had now played 70 minutes and he had made a big step. Klopp told a Melwood press conference: “We need to think about how he can manage minutes but he made a big step in the last week. That’s good. I’ve made no final decisions about line-up or things like this but until now, everything is like it should be.” 2016 Getty Images please log in to view this image Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool talks to substitute Daniel Sturridge of Liverpool And on his fellow striker Benteke, Klopp was upbeat despite his missed opportunities. “I can do a lot of things but at the end it is like it always is. not just with Christian - the last bit and the most important bit comes from the player himself. “I saw really good signs at West Ham in not the easiest period of his career. He really fought and having this number of opportunities is a good sign. If he had no opportunities that would be a much bigger problem. “Of course it is not too easy. What we do is in the public interest so we cannot hide yourself. That’s how it is. I talked to him a few times, gave him some advice as a human being, as a coach, and he’s really tried to come back to an easy moment. That’s how it is with all the players in the squad. “If a striker doesn’t score goals over a longer period, it’s more interesting if no-one else is scoring either. He has to carry on, we have to carry on, that’s how it is.” 2016 Getty Images please log in to view this image Christian Benteke of Liverpool reacts as he foiled by goalkeeper Darren Randolph of West Ham If he plays at Villa Park, Benteke will be returning to the club where he flourished before his £32.5m move to Anfield in the summer. But Klopp is wary of the situation regarding players returning to their former clubs. He said: “I have not the best experiences with players coming back to former clubs. Usually they make for themselves more pressure, they want to show extra. I don’t know exactly the history with Aston Villa, whether they will welcome him with open arms or with whistles, I don’t know. “No final decisions for line-up. It’s about work and circumstances and we will see which line-up we will choose for Aston Villa but it’s not because of personal histories with this club.” Of course Sturridge and Benteke can play together Liverpool ended the West Ham game with a line-up which included Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge and Benteke but Klopp said it was one unlikely to be seen in the Premier League. “It was a risky formation after our changes when we had Jordon Ibe, Christian, Daniel and Divock on the pitch and defended the midfield with Pedro and a limping Kevin Stewart. 2016 Getty Images please log in to view this image Divock Origi of Liverpool is challenged by Michail Antonio of West Ham “But we want to win the game and in this moment we saw the chance to do this. But I don’t think it’s a line-up likely for a Premier League game. You need the balance, rhythm in your game. You cannot force it, bring all the strikers in your club and hope one of them will score a goal, it’s not how it works. “For this game it was okay but of course Daniel and Christian can play together. And of course as we saw at Southampton (in League Cup) Daniel and Divock can play together. But it’s always about what you need for the special opponent. Football sometimes it’s easy but sometimes it seems easier than it is. “You cannot ignore the other team, so you have to defend in different spaces because they all have the possibility to get the ball and do something.”
should be interesting to see what klopp does with all these players I think he will revert to 4231. I thin kthe 433 with firminho leading line will be dropped in favour of 4231 with firmino and coutinho behind a striker and milner making up the third body running about.
well.... thats depends doesn't it? what does that mean.... is it s really narrow set up or is it waking the 2 guys to play wide? Is there room to fit another body in there advanced of the 2 cems or do you plonk in a holding player with two box to box? Is it a gerrard type role when he played behind torres with two holding behind... or Lucas behid henderson and can when that front 3 plays. I just think klopp will ant another attacker in there between firmino and coutinho... or even wide right and thats why teixteria was sought.
I think over time, it will be 4231. Sturridgr is the number 1 striker and Firmino is the best number 10 so he needs to be central. Which means Coutinho will be drawn out wide. Who cares - get the best players on the pitch and we'll win
Who will play rw.... that's the issue as well as injuries. Add in turgid cms and full backs who don't seem to see the options.... more no has just about a 100% take the wrong option record and clyne just back passes. Let's not forget the cbs who can't hold a line and the keeper who concedes of most shots lately. Hmmmmm.... Yeah the front 3 actually be great fit will really help.
I wouldn't be surprised for a diamond midfield behind -------Coutinho Firmino---Sturridge Not for this game obviously, but down the line
