Bit harsh on Heskey this is. Alright wasn't a great goalscorer but did his bit and aided Owen. Benteke is a way off this.
benteke is up there with our worst buys ever. he's genuinely yet to have a decent game for us. completely given up on this absolute waste of space
Just watched him feck up a 1 on 1 with the keeper, getting bored of these repeats they keep showing on the telly.
There were some good moments from Benteke last night but also some horrific moments as well. This was just brainless - he will never be able to adapt his game.
He missed the run but to be that far offside indicates that he hasn't got a clue about the timing or the shape of his run. Shall we cut our losses now, MITO?
There were so many times last night where Benteke said where he wanted the ball and made the run, but the pass didn't come, so he just ran into an offside Position. That means that either he went too early, or the pass came too late. Last night, it seemed like both (sometimes one, sometimes the other, sometimes both at once). You get the Impression though that the other players don't trust him anymore. Judging by his reaction to the misses in ET, neither does Klopp.
If the rest of our strikers are fit Benteke isn't going to be on. If we buy another in the Summer then he's gone. Only thing saving him is Sturridge is made of glass.
