As long as its on the cheap ME will get them, perhaps hes down to his last £500M? Id buy the poor old bugger a drink but he never turns up at matches, perhaps the ticket prices are too much for him in these days of austerity? Still no change in the showing ambition and backing your manager frame of mind then ME, another January been and gone when all this money that's available hasn't been spent and when we are forced into getting an emergency loan we get the cheapest option, that's no offence intended towards the player but Im getting totally pissed off with players being recruited on the cheap and usually players nobody else will go anywhere near.

Tbf to the player, this isn't a bad signing in terms of how our business plan is run these days, he can do a good job for us, he adds pace and has an eye for goal and is a no risk option.

That being said, with the likelihood we have seen the last of Fraser due to his hammy, I would hope/expect that ME would put his hand in coffers for a stellar loan signing, but obviously we have to get the timing right to get around he 93 day rule.

I remember him tearing us apart the season Leicester got promoted, played out of his skin that season, unfortunately that was 3 years ago now and he hasn't been pulling up many trees since. But, as with Hunt, Varney etc. he has a point to prove and I fancy he'll add something to the squad (experience and professionalism as a given) and hopefully he will be able to put in some decent performances if given the chance.

Not too disappointed (or surprised by this) but it is a little bit galling when you put it into perspective when comparing it to the rest of the league.
    Wednesday sign McGeady
    Brighton sign Knockaert
    .... We sign Lloyd Dyer.

Good luck to him, I hope he proves all the doubters wrong

tbh we have had **** luck with injuries this season. Fraser is just as good as any signing made in the championship this season, yet for what should have been a full season we will probably only get half that. Add with that didzy and bish that is 3 big players out for us, that in my mind changes our whole approach to games.

I know injuries are par and parcel of the game, but you have to wonder if even 2 of the 3 players mentioned were fit how much better we would be off.

Lets see how he shapes up. Does Didzy actually want to play for us, how bad is his injury??

I fear we are now potentially in the Lift flashing descending unless the club can collectively pull its digit out! I find our form and general club player policy & team strategy dispiriting past few weeks.

I hope I am proved wrong Saturday!

The thing is gaffer, how many times have we felt that over the past couple of seasons? I know I have thought many times well that's as far as Mick can take us with no budget, but then off the team goes again on a good run! And everything is ok again.

I truly believe it's time for a stellar loan signing now, Charlie Adam or such like, someone who get other teams to sit up and look at little old Ipswich, I can't believe the money isn't there for a signing of that ilk.

In regards to didzy, who knows with him, I suppose the only thing we can go on is that he signed a contract extension in the summer, so he must be happy I presume.

I can't see spanking a ton of cash on a big name player would really help, even if one is available. One player rarely makes a team, unless they are really way above everyone else, in which case they won't be floating around as a loaner. Plus, were without two key players in bish and mcG so there's not much point; it'd just be patching rather than icing the cake.

According to TWTD, we're also in the loan market for Ben Pringle. Decent player who was considered rather highly at Derby. Made a few appearances for Fulham this season, but no league appearances in 2016. He would be a good move, I think, and should bring a lot more than Lloyd Dyer, who strikes me as an over-the-hill player.

Completely disagree Nuggets - Dyer is a far far better player than Pringle. Still rapid, and at 33 that doesn't concern me. Very highly thought of by both Watford and Leicester fans and Watford saying he's been unlucky not to play due to a change in shape. He was apparently coming before Fraser got injured - someone first mentioned it Thursday last week. Main issue being he's not played but I think he's quite a good signing.

Pringle less thrilled about - though at Rotherham last year when we lost 2-0 he ran the game and his set pieces were excellent. Doesn't have Dyer's raw pace / direct play but a good technician.

If we could snap the two up ( had to make some pringle reference ) at least we have some wide options once more. Appears Fraser will be out quite a wile, Oar has gone, god knows what's happening with Toure, assume he's just not consistently fit and Henshall/ Donnolly haven't made the grade so have both gone.

This at least shows Mick is happier with the team and more secure to play wide boys this season. Last year we had Tabb / Ando ( Ando told to tuck in and not push on )

Niles will have his good / bad days but these two could make a decent three and give us renewed hope of top 6.

Lets hope these 2 fresh crackers are worth their salt! If they are both signed and ready to fizz down our wings. I have always liked ITFC better with proper wingers...and lets now see Freddie plays where he wants to....

Fair enough Westy. I know Dyer has pace, but he always struck me as having very little in actual end product. Dyer hasn't played recently, so, in terms of match fitness, he's presumably not going to hit the ground running. He was also castigated by the Birmingham supporters during his unsuccessful loan stint last year. He didn't exactly light up Watford either, but he does, at least, have experience of a promotion campaign.

These two, should we sign them, will be quite handy additions. They don't appear to be better than Fraser, or even Oar (in terms of reputation and technical quality), but I've been surprised by Mick's signings before.

Looks like the Pringle deal is nearly done and dusted.
He should be signing in time to be in Saturday's squad.

Out of interest, not that I mind Pringle, but can I ask the reason Spanish you'd prefer Pringle than Dyer?
