    Seems like only yesterday we were watching Champs league and Uefa football.

    One thing I miss more than that is Shearer, Carroll managed to almost fill that gap for a while until it was ripped away from us.

    I miss Sir Bobby most, he was in charge when I started properly getting into football and since his sacking it has all been down hill! I've never witnessed times as good. He defines the word legend!

    That was literally awful, I still remember how pissed off I was, went in a huff and wouldnt leave my room for ages.

    Agreed, even when times were tough it wasn't as bad because we always knew Sir Bobby would do his best to turn things around, what an absolute miss the man is not just to football but to the world <ok>

    Laurent Robert was world class!

    That whole team was world class! Battling at the top of the league and playing in the Champions League :( those were the days, I miss Sir Bobby and I miss the best Newcastle side i've ever witnessed!

    Carroll had more hair than Shearer but Shearer had a hell of a lot more class than Carroll.

    Best side had to be the Keegan side with Shearer, Albert, Ginola, Ferdinand etc. Totally awesome to watch and to be fair, the Premier League just seemed better then. I suppose that was the beginning of the rot as far as English football is concerned, the Murdoch money machine has attracted too many foreign players imo and I reckon it could be directly attributed to the downfall of our national side.

    EDIT: That last sentence sounds a little right wing but you catch my drift!
