Love a bit of delusion on a Monday morning! You're stuck in the same **** craic as us... "Encouraging performance... "A turning point"... Only it isn't. We play well when under no pressure, then buckle to **** teams. Fat Sham not be blamed though, he's getting the most out of the players. It might be good for both teams to drop, if only to wipe the terrible players and start again.
I'd rather stay up and wipe the terrible players (arses?) it's not like you have to be in the championship to do so.
Our transfers: Did we get a RB in ? No, but do we know what went on? Sam has said himself that we had 1. Bids accepted but the players didnt want to come 2. Bids turned down For the 1st time in many transfer windows (and in a January window, know to be difficult), we have managed to bring in signings that have made an immediate impact and strengthened a couple of key positions. Centre back (Kone and maybe Kirchoff), DM (Kirchhoff), ACM ACL ACR (Khazari) and arguably CF (N'doye -to be seen). Sam and Short deserve credit for this, and as such should be given the benefit of doubt about the RB position. Do you know what would have happened under another manager ? We would have spent money on a last minute addition that probably would have turned out ****. Sam and Short probably had a list of players who they think would have made a difference and were potentially available during the Jan window, and it looks like we didnt get them. Its the January window for **** sake, a window known for player prices being jacked up because other clubs know we need certain types of player. Even foreign clubs know how to play that game. I am happy we managed to get the players in that we did for the price we did. If we had spent over the top for an average player, we would have been complaining about that. "**** sake, we go screwed over again. Will we never learn and stop paying ott for average and/or injury prone players.... blah blah blah" Besides which, we have 3 players on the books who can play RB, but only one player who can play at LB. I am more concerned for the LB position, cos if PvA gets injured we are screwed. Jones and Yedlin might not be good enough, but at least we have cover.
We got rid of several in the recent window, only on loan but the intention is there. Just requires a manager who knows what he's doing.
The only way to get rid of our players at present is on loan because they're on ridiculous wages for what they are. Bloated market be damned, competing with London be damned, Leicester are proof these are mostly pathetic excuses. One of our ex-players, considered not good enough, could win the league. Meanwhile, we've signed pure ****e and put them on higher wages An overhaul of the transfer policies and general attitude of the goldfish bowl are required.
So we get on fine until I have a different opinion to you? (OK so I missed the one time you said it felt good - and, because of this forum truncating the quotes, didn;t see it in your quote of your own stuff above - apologies) but this is a 13 page thread after all! I have once (and only once) "gone on like this" with you as I normally agree with you - on this one I don;t so you're going to avoid me? Up to you fella but it seems kind of petty to avoid someone who has a simple difference of opinion - I'd like you to point out which of your words I've twisted? You stated that sam was entirely to blame for us being ****e and the players were entirely to blame for us getting it back - I think both deserve equal criticism and praise for the game - is there any point in falling out over a difference of opinion?
Stop carping about goldfish bowls, man, Judy I remember when Claude Makelele was considered to be not good enough for us . . . . I wonder what happened to him
Gordon vs Wanderer death match on the horizon mate, watch this space. Even though that's on another thread.
Hang on . . . . two against one's not fair I'd obviously have to take on his carer, too For that reason . . . . I'm out p.s. I have difficulty understanding the majority of his posts, 'cos they just don't make any sense, and I wonder whether or not he actually understand them
Just forget it fella. Not going back into it. Read the posts I've already left your answer is in there. I've said it's nothing to do with opinion. You don't get my point fair dos. Lets just leave it at that. I will avoid you when we differ in opinion, it's not worth this ****e. I've got a lot of time for you Marcus, you're a great poster, my opinion of you hasn't changed. I'm happy to move on. Have a good day fella.
Doesn;t happen that often anyway man so you'll not be avoiding me much! No harm no foul mate and same to you - it;s only a football forum after all
