Feel sorry for Welly, Fieldmarshall & friends. Ah well.... next up Bristol City away..who are.winning today and away. Is this February the pits for Ips?!
So close to the point, but sounds we were under the cosh nearly all match Still just outside the playoffs and only 10pts off the top so anything possible. Come on Town!!
Wake up guys, look at the bench today and now Skuse and Fraser are out injured, mid table it is then!
Dreadful display with no midfield so no ball getting to the front players and the defence under pressure from the first whistle, thank God for Bart who saved us from a four goal hiding. Apart from Smith, Berra, and Bart in defence and sears and Fraser up front the rest were pathetic with Knuddsen and Bru particularly awful, MM reckons there's no one available who could improve the squad, what a load of bollocks and now with Fraser, Skues, and Hyam injured its looking grim, if we can't play at a better standard than we did today and last Tuesday then mid table is beyond us. The Town fans in the packed away end were brilliant as always and deserved better than the dross that was served up today, yet again our failure to re inforce in January has quickly bit us in the arse and the standard of some players on the bench defies description. It's said that money was available and MM says he didn't need to buy as he has two players for every position, that is so obviously untrue I can only assume that MM was just following the ME line and there was no money available to him to reinforce, no manager turns down the chance to buy some quality if its offered. If its a good game and we lose well that's just football but today we were outclassed with one shot on target in the first half, that's worrying.
I think the loss of Fraser could well see us out of the play off picture if he is out to long............ ........or will we see the rise of a new hero from the youth ranks................ .......or will Tabb stand tall for one final hurrah................
Fieldmarshall, MM picked the team, chose the tactics etc. He brought in the likes of digby Foley and Coke, yet he sent Clarke, Yorwerth and Emmanuel out on loan, who are probably better. It's not all down to ME tightening the purse strings Imo!
Don't feel sorry for me mate, I had a cracking day out, on the lash in London with me mates and numerous other Ipswich lads from 10 am, good pubs and good company, proper away day. Ok, the result slightly marred the day, but only very slightly...Loftus Road is a great ground, proper old skool with some great boozers all around, our lads were everywhere in Shepherds Bush, loud and proud. Pity that the team didn't show the same passion as our away did.
SD,just seen the smut you've been posting on a certain Barnsley thread................ ...........and I like it!
It was the winds fault we lost, McCarthy said the wind had a significant impact on the match: “I would say so. It wasn’t a great game, was it? It ended up being an exciting game because they’ve scored and we ended up with loads of chances at the end. It was a horrible affair because it was blowing and conditions were awful.” Now i am no expert but surely if you keep the ball on the deck.......... Sounded to me like Knudsen was very poor again, not sure Varney is the answer, he plays 5 mins midweek, sets up a goal and then becomes a starter yesterday, knee jerk reaction me thinks. I am getting mighty pissed off with the fact that Sears seems to be played everywhere but his natural, most effective position! I also think MM made a massive balls up by playing Fraser when he knew he had a problem with his hamstring, bloody insane decision from Mr iknowfuckingbest Mcarthy!! I think its going to be a difficult run in with a weakened squad, i predict a mid table finish at best, unless Mick manages to sign a couple of quality players on loan!
" I think its going to be a difficult run in with a weakened squad, i predict a mid table finish at best " Well that has to be the biggest overeaction I've heard for quite a while - Spanish we're clearly going to come higher than 12th max. We're 9 points ahead of 12th! Like you though Sears should play in his correct position - two of my mates went and both said we were absolutely jizz and both are massive Mick fans. So that speaks volumes. Also Varney I think should have been sub - maybe come on earlier. To start seemed a bit mad to me, how did he play? So how bad are these injuries? Rumour going around TWTD Lloyd Dyer may be arriving on loan - good player, welcome aboard if true. 16 games, all to play for. 2 points off the play offs. 6th is worth as much as 3rd, all to play for. Big game at Bristol City sat, who will have a new manager in time for the game..... Bench looked damn weak. I wondered who / what position Henly was but that's a keeper. Foley is a Parr player, I won't comment until he's played. Digby seems odd. The bench certainly does not inspire. Toure looking injury prone. Need two in, the sooner rather than better if we're going to get that 6th spot.
Actually westy if you divide the table into 3, top, middle and bottom, you would class mid table between 8th and 16th. That actually makes us 1 point above mid table, although generally I would say I mean around tenth, which is only 5 points I think, and most of those have better GD than us! Hardly an overreaction wouldn't you say?
westy I am an MM supporter as are you but Christ you wouldn't believe the standard we played at especially in the first half, I hope its a temporary blip but with the team being weakened by injuries it actually could get worse which is a frightening prospect. According to todays EADT there were 3188 Town fans at Loftus Rd and I personally met fans from Sweden, Norway, Germany, and Ireland so away support is good and sold out for Bristol City but the buzz after the match wasn't good so another bad performance and support could dwindle to the bad old days numbers, lets hope we get a hold of this so that doesn't happen.
