You are being too modest, your comment ensured the goal would come.

"Too much information" is a very American phrase. Definitely a cultural preference for executive summary over nitty gritty detail.

I thought Watford were lucky to get 0!!!!!
It was more like a practice game.
Possibly the worst team we've seen at the Lane this season.

One of the hardest disciplines to instill into young players, is patience when you're on top for long spells and the score is still level.

Our lads showed patience and perseverance in abundance today, and that for me is as pleasing as the 3 points.

No player was any better or poorer than any other today. That was simply a bloody good all round team performance made better by a superbly worked winning goal.

We all must have felt that the goal wasn't going to come. No sign of that on the pitch. Equally after we scored we didn't let up in intensity or commitment. These kids are learning so fast. So, so proud of them. Bloody well done to everybody involved!! Another day where it is a joy to be a spur!

Probably the most we've been dominated in a game over 90 minutes.

No complaints at all - probably the most one sided 1-0 I've seen..

Best of luck for the rest of the season...

Have to agree. We did not really offer a lot but did well not to get murdered.
From a personal point of view, whilst it was disappointing, my nephew enjoyed his first visit to White Hart Lane immensely so that was good. I also think that, over 90 minutes,, that is the best I have seen anyone play against us this season.

Thanks, good to get an objective view. On a personal note, so good to see Gomes doing well. Liked him very much during his time with us. Made saves very few keepers could make, but let a few in I'd expect to keep out. But fantastic ability and looks like your manager has got him doing well. Best of luck with the rest of the season, hopefully you can kick on to consolidate top half.

I agree. Thought you were brilliant and, had I not been on the wrong end of of it, would have loved it. I saw someone say we were the worst team at WHL this season. I cannot comment on that but would just say it was not our worst performance by a very long chalk and maybe they should look at how good their own team were.

They must have forgotten about West Ham's visit. Now that was truly pathetic <laugh>

I guess it's hard to tell whether one team is poor or whether the opposition is making them look poor. Given our perfomances this season I think it's fair to say that it's probably the latter.

Anyway, best of luck beating Arsenal and Leicester for us :D

    Nice one!

Sounds like a frustrating game, judging from the comments.

My game finished 1-1. Going to play the reply during the week :emoticon-0136-giggl

I thought West Ham were worse, they were lucky to get away with a 4-1!

It's all very well to not look like you are going to score, but certain other clubs might well have had a penalty or two before we actually did score.

Best of luck to you as well. We've worked ourselves up to an amazingly high level this year. While I've been consistently bullish on the team, or at least on the talent level of the players, I am absolutely shocked how good we are ATM. I don't know what's more impressive, the way our players anticipate the next ball from the opposition and stop the move forward, or the consistently good judgment they show attacking.

Watford still look like a good team to me. You were very well organized and Ighalo and Deeny give you a cutting edge, and Capoue some quality in midfield.

That was quite possibly one of the best 1-0's I've seen.

We were so good, some of the football was sheer class and similar to what Spurcat mentioned, to have the patience and perseverance to wait for the goal showed great character and great mental strength from our young squad.

Every single one of the lads put in a top notch performance, if I was to grade the lads, all would've gotten at least an 8 with the exception of Davies and Tripps, who I'd give 9s. Those two were incredible, bombing it forward at every moment and the goal was nothing less than what Tripps deserved for a great performance.

After the weekend's results it was a much needed win as it keeps us above Arsenal and maintains a decent distance in order to hopefully catch Leicester.

The City game is going to be absolutely huge.

Watford might have made more of a fist of it if they'd had both front men on the pitch from the start as they did during the first game, but I think think we'd have had the beating of them even if they'd maybe had nicked a goal as a result as they'd have been more open in midfield with 2 strikers up there. As it was we just had to wear them down and stay alert at the back.
