Thanks for the best wishes. It is a fantastic time right now for our supporters after the lows of the last 10 years .... a real rollercoaster ride at times and still can't believe where we are now. But nothing is won yet and it will still take a huge effort to maintain our current form. But if we do win it, what then for next season and the future? And this is where a huge irony could occur. There will be the small matter of Champions League to contend with, and the club will obviously want to try and maintain their position near the top of the Premier League; and you can't do that without spending big ... and our owners are reputedly willing to spend big! We could potentially be forced to become one of the big spending clubs that we are currently trying to dethrone. Maybe that is just the natural order of things in football just as in any other walk of life. Other fans might love us now, and will come to hate us in a couple of years time if we continue to be successful. But that's one for later. Right now I'm just lovin' it!
Even this, even to have put the cat among the pigeons (or fox among the chickens) so spectacularly up to February of a PL season, is just magical. I hope Ranieri can keep their feet on the ground, and that this carries on for you. We'll all be quietly hoping that you pull it off.
Think many of us are well beyond quietly hoping. Win it for all the irrational clubs that believe that they can be more than just cannon fodder for the Clubs That Matter.
This group of players are as grounded and down to earth as any you will come across in the Premier League The togetherness and spirit since the great escape last season has got stronger and stronger. Ranieri is right saying we gave no pressure. The target was to stay up and so now the players can go out with no pressure and just enjoy themselves
In my opinion, the pressure of a relegation battle far outweighs any pressure we may have trying to win the Premier League...
