    Taken from Sportsmole (I think)....

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has rejected suggestions that the club need to appoint an experienced coach to work alongside Garry Monk.

Monk has been handed a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium in what is his first job in management, but Jenkins is keen for the former defender to work by his own methods rather than relying on additional help from an experienced assistant.

Jenkins is quoted by the South Wales Evening Post as saying: "I think going for a more experienced figure is always an option but you look at our way we have worked, giving young, up-and-coming coaches a chance to coach.

"That goes against what most people do, and that's always a good thing for our club. When you look at other clubs who tried putting experience in last season, most of them have lost their jobs long before the end of the season.

"I don't see it as a good way to work. It can only cause problems in my view."

Monk won five of his 17 games in charge after replacing Michael Laudrup for the final months of last season.

Well the Board must be more than confident in Monks ability to maintain PL status .I just hope it doesn't bite them on the arse .

We don't need what we already have...why waste money. We have plenty of experience at the club...

I personally would have liked to have seen an experienced person help out, but who would we put there? We can rule out any manager as they wouldn't take a step down from being the boss. Can we say Alan Curtis is experienced as he has been through the reigns that got us up there?

So why did he appoint Laudrup? If it's not such a "a good way to work" why give him the job?

Jenks seems to value experience these days.

Well, when you are banging Dyers missus you are privy to some inside knowledge now and then.

    The short version:

Martin Morgan shags Dyer's wife. Dyer finds out and doesn't get much support from Jinks or Monk. He is sent away on loan, vowing never to play for the Swans again.

Money and power talk, I'm afraid.

Has he actually said this? I hope we see him in a Swans shirt again.
Saying that, he gets the last laugh as a possible PL title is within his grasp.

Well a mate of mine said that was a quote from him but I never saw it myself. Maybe I shouldn't have taken that as read. Let's be honest though, Dyer was dire for us, and had been for a long time.

He's also not getting a look in at Leicester. Difficult times for him.

though"Jenkins is keen for the former defender to work by his own methods rather than relying on additional help from an experienced assistant"

Jenkins soon changed his mind come September of last year though, when he offered Monk an experienced No2, which Monk turned down the nugget....<laugh>
