I have to agree General - we do really need to see if some of our youth team can make the step up. Both Murphy twins seem to be doing well at their respective clubs, though Loza appears to be considering a permanent move to Southend.
Canario bor, We won promotion with a young manager unproven to the standard of the PL, if the worst happens and we are relegated it will not be the end of Norwich City. Then we would be among the favourites to return and AN will be more experienced for us to achieve that objective. Or we could say goodbye to AN , there are several unemployed managers currently available who have the expertise but there is no guarantee they would consider joining us. The board thought that Hughton, with his knowledge of the PL, that he would prove to be the answer but as events proved, didn't work. Believe me, there are a lot of clubs would like to be in our position even if it does look perilous, ask our country cousins if they would swop positions with us. They would consider receiving parachute payment worth the anxiety of relegation. With our new acquisitions it is far too early to make comparisons with players who have in the past not lived up to our expectations. It is not a goal until all of the ball is over the line, the same applies to relegation. Until it's is a certainty there is always hope.
At the moment we're relying on other teams being worse than us. It's worked so far but we have to start picking results up as soon as possible. When you are relying on Sunderland staying where they are you know you are in trouble! Hang on!
How could you have possibly come to this conclusion? Stuff like this does my head in. I posted in another thread that I was going to stay away from this forum for a few days but changed my mind - I wish I hadn't.
It's not always obvious, but on this occasion think it was meant as a joke mate From what most of us have seen, there's no denying that Naismith for one adds something very real to our attack, and IMO Klose looked like he has a lot of potential. Pinto... not so much, yet, but you never know.
True - we need everyone to keep positive, exactly. Ain't over til the rotund female warbles as they say.
KIO thinks that this sort of response will provoke more discussion. I used to respond, but I don't any more as I fear that it will put people off contributing, as you suggest. Provoking anger seldom leads to constructive discussion, IMO. I'd suggest just ignoring it, Danary, but it's up to you.
You're bang on, mate, and I've completely fell for it. He may think it provokes discussion, and on this occasion I guess it has, but for the most part it actually it makes people not want to post or even visit the forum because it's so incredibly tedious.
I can see I have done you boys a favour by starting this thread it has allowed you all to vent your spleens. I should have called it JWM's therapy thread!
Jolly good of you - having instigated the thread, to drop by and check that we weren't tearing each other apart, Warky. Despite that presumably being the aim of starting it in the first place. No, buddy, it's all milk, honey, green and yellow around here - as usual, so maybe trying to raise the rabble on the ITFC forum would make far better use of your time Just a thought.
Cromer me old mate it wasn't my intention to cause discord I only wanted to create a thread where you old boys could discuss the matter in hand in a reasoned and sensible way. Mission accomplished I reckon.
Fact is it has 70 responses (and counting) and so, despite meandering a little - which is what us Norfolk bors do anyway, it appears to have stimulated some debate. No discord caused and no offence intended
No worries Cromer I don't post much these days but rest assured I meant no harm and may have actually done some good. Life is too short for all this tribal nonsense.
Yes, the original post had long since disappeared and it was a perfectly valid question and has stimulated some worthwhile debate. On a slightly different topic - do you think you'll stay in the play-off places this season JWM?? Derby seem to be slipping again this season.
No chance mate we aren't good enough and never will be with Evans as our owner. I'm pretty bored of the whole shabang these days. Good luck to you boys it looks like you have won the cross border arguement pretty comprehensively but you took your time in achieving it! We must be the most boring football club that has ever existed in English football.
That's a very negative way of looking at things, are Leicester hoping that 29 teams will be worse than them? Or like us are we striving to be better than the others? We have been better than 3 teams so far and hopefully that'll continue till May and the end of the season. Bah!
Some thoughts from AN ahead of today's game - “I can’t see it being a tight, cagey, tense affair because a point is not really the best outcome for either. “You might have thought before Liverpool that was going to be tense and nervy and it ended up 5-4. I feel it will be relatively open, both teams know they need to win and will attack it as such. They’ve only won twice all season so of course they want to do it for their home fans and try to show them they have turned a corner and we have to be ready for that.” Let's hope that message has got through LOUD and CLEAR to the defence then!!!!
