Off Topic Next Mafia game?

dunno. there is no clear week. and it would take more than 5 mins to actually write up if i do 3 options a day for 5 days that could be 30/40 possible outcomes.

There is a two week break in February (14-27) in the PL but I think there are FA Cup games on

 

Us and newkie will probably both be out then so good time to distract from football

 

It's our replay with West Ham (just checked)

 

The replay is 9th, 14th is Villa, Augsbug away is 18th

 

I'm game.

 

My bad. It's the next round of FA Cup vs Blackburn should we avoid humiliation.

 

Like I said, we'll probably be out, and newkie are already out so could be good time.

I've been thinking about an idea of a time travel game where each team has a 1 time use to turn the game back to any previous day.

So if on the 4th day you travel back to the 2nd day, everyone killed, lynched, converted etc. since then would be reversed. This means dead people are still potentially in the game. In fact you could die twice and still win.

But since learning information can't be reversed it means people have to be more careful. You can't say "I think we're strong enough now so I'll reveal who I am". We've tried to have rules against revealing but they are hard to enforce.

Only bad thing is it would need significant changes to balancing and how information is learned.

If done right it could lead to some #epic #mindfuck though.

 

But if the dead are revealed to be bad guys then going back in time won't save them

 

Maybe the dead are not necessarily revealed (which doesn't make sense anyway). But anyway if you can go back and know exactly who are your main targets you can turn the game.

You could still go back despite your mafia teammate being revealed as it would buy you an extra day or two. Or, if it's a mafia team of four, three of them may have been killed. Going back in time to get them all back buys the remaining member some time to get some actions in.

PS...if there are two mafia teams this could get crazily confusing. People could be killed three times

that sounds fun. the town could revert back 2 days if they completely ****ed the game up but would not if they killed off enough mafia. If the mafia are down to one they could get back to 3 and maybe use powers...

I would expect that the mafia would be needing a lot of powers as they need to kill off as many people as possible before being found. If the town simply turn back the clock and suddenly have 3/4 guys who are then known innocents yuo'd have to allow the used mafia powers to be transferred to other targets instantly.

For example if the mafia have a recruit done and time goes back that recruit knows all mafia so have to stay mafia. they get back their kill powers... per haps the mafia get to trun one of the dead to their side as compensation as if all the town need do is hang in for 3 days then turn the clock back so they have say 5 known town to 3 mafia then they will win.

sounds good to me as a game though.

 

Unless the recruit is told not to say anything else they experience a instant very painful death (plus it would ruin the game)
